Louisiana Soccer Community, last night Brittni Griffin a Freshmen at St.Amant High School passed away after having surgery to remove a brain tumor.
This tragedy happend very quickly and was unexpected.
She had played in the marching band friday night, and then became sick over the weekend. She passed away last night.
Brittni had just begun her career at St.Amant. However, she attended every summer activity (only missed 1 day) and had already made an impact on the team and coaching staff.
We will remember and honor her this season, and ask that the whole state keep Brittni, her family, and the St.Amant Community in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank You, Brett Malone Lady Gators Head Coach

Brett,
Very sorry to hear this news. It's never easy to lose anyone, especially someone so young. Something you all might want to consider.................3 years ago one of our 10th graders passed away suddenly- probably the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with as a coach and friend of the young man and his family. The booster club donated 40 black armbands embroidered with the player's intitals and number. The armbands were about 2 inches wide, made of stretchy material and had thick velcro attachment. We wore them til his class graduated. I kept them in a water proof container and gave them out before warm-ups for each game and picked them up after each game (players tend to misplace items not taped to them).
We also went to one mass, with his parents, each year til his class graduated. The priest knew which mass were were coming to and reserved a team section. His parents and family sat in the front row with the senior class. We wore school dress pants and our black game jersey and all walked into the church at the same time behond his parents.
I will say that this helped our guys deal with the loss more than anything and the parents still felt connected to his friends, teamates and school. There were games that they came to watch and we made sure that our captains led the team across the field for a short hug/handshake to acknowledge them.
Each school and person will deal with the loss of a young lady or man differently. It's never easy.
Prayers and thoughts are with you all and her family.
Take Care, Paul Fletcher St. Michael's Soccer Boys Head Coach
