I saw this post on the guys side and agreed that the focus and stoplit is often given to forwards and midfielders. The will give the top defenders a chance to be recognized.

St. Louis' Alden Schindler is definitely one of the top female defenders in the state. She's playing through a nasty knee injury, but still she could start in the back or up top for any team in the state.

Division III defenders:
Pope John Paul's Sam Incaprera(JR) and Amy Melendez(SR) are having a great year. Plus Freshman Goalie Alexis Molero has had 6 shotouts.

Returning All-State selection Ashley Harber has shaken off an injury from the fall club season and has played a vital role in Dominican's fast start this season.

Division III defenders:
Camille Reffett the center back for Ouachita Christian is having an outstanding year so far. And Juju Malone the keeper is also doing a great job.

Jacqueline Samson (Jr) and Katie Sands (Sr) are playing outstanding defense for U-High and Elizabeth Bankhead (8th) is playing great in goal.

Sophomore Marci miller has had an amazing season as center back for the Alexandria Trojans and senior Kaitlyn Robinson has been a formidable defensive mid ...both have great speed

Sometimes defender is defenders...Fontainebleau tandem Left Side of Megan Simon midfield wing and Katie Odonnell left wing defender. Shutdown side I have seen only 1 or 2 goals scored all year(from left side) when these girls are on the field together....
