What are the regulations or rules and or penalties regarding starting varsity players in a JV game?
Please advise.

Seniors are not allowed to play in JV games.
Juniors, sophomores & freshmen that are on varsity may also be on the JV team.

Don't think LHSAA has ANYTHING about JV (unless I've missed it), but kinda bad form to play senior level/ top players in a JV game. Typically, seniors do not play unless both coaches agree before the game (such as a senior that is not a starter nor a top sub).

Where is it indicated in the LHSAA rules that seniors cannot play in the JV games? What does it matter if players start jv and play varsity? This is what you call swing players. I agree with cenlacoach as far as playing a senior in a jv game - typically it is someone who has committed their time, but does not have the ability at a level to compete at a varsity level. And in most cases that i have experienced and seen, those seniors weren't even the better JV players.

I would think of it more as an A team and B team. The players will play were they fit in. I don't think class should mater.

I have always seen it as an A and B team as well. Typically the players that may play both are eighth and ninth graders who happen to be strong enough players to play both. The senior that may play junior varsity is not a player that is going to crack the line-up on the senior varsity team. I would say just be happy you are connected to a program that benefits from having enough players to field a junior varsity, as well as a varsity player. Many places can not do that, and you often see seventh graders playing big roles on their high school teams because of this.
