Teams that have the ability and talent to play Barcelona's possession style of play, will most always come out on top. Yes, you must have the talent and intellect and be able to sell your players on this concept, however once it becomes employed and sold to the players as well as observe it for themselves and they have an opportunity to work and perfect it as best they can, it will result in positive results.
I have seen some of our local girls HS teams and they are top ranked teams, employ this strategy with very positive results.

Mt.Carmel is the team I've seen closest to this type of play. They possess, possess, possess, and then they break you! Very impressive and the results are definitely there.

I saw Mt. Carmel play Fontainebleau earlier in the season at Lakeshore where my daughter plays and was impressed with their style as I am huge Barcelona fan. After the game I went over to their coach to compliment their fine team playing and mentioned their play as similar to Barcelona. I apologize for not knowing the coaches name but he is affiliated with the La. Fire club. He thanked me for the compliment and then stated that is what we are trying to teach the girls". I would expect them to do very well in the tourney.
