A couple of weeks ago, Ursuline was playing Hannan on Hannan's Senior Day. Hannan Senior Captain Jessica Turner was injured in a preseason jamboree and was unable to play any games. She asked if she could at least step on the field for one game and we asked Ursuline Coach Winston Lewis if they would allow her to kick off and then we would kick it out of bounds to start the game. The girls on the Ursuline team decided that was not enough and with two minutes left in the game and only leading 2-0, they intentionally handled a ball in the box so that Jessica could take a penalty kick and score a goal in her senior season. She made the goal and said that it was one of the nicest things anyone had ever done for her. It was a special moment for her, her parents and our team. Many thanks to Coach Lewis and the Ursuline team for their great gesture of sportsmanship.

That is awesome!! Sorry for the young ladies injury but that was a great display of sportsmanship from both teams.
While I hope my daughter continues to improve in soccer, her development into a good person is paramount. Sounds like these girls have gotten both down...

To the parents of the Hannan player I extend my best wishes to your daughter's speedy recovery. I too have been there. To Coach Lewis and the girls of Ursuline, I say,"Well done, and good luck in the playoffs!"
