Looks like the final 8 will probably go according to seeding. Northlake and Ouachita have a chance but it will be difficult. Ouachita may have the best chance for upset just because Episcopal has to come there but would be surprised if Episcopal lost. STA and PJP II whoever wins will not be an upset.
I was not surprised by the teams that won last night but I was very surprised all posted shutouts.
Anyone have any thoughts?

My thoughts are that Division III will be the only Division on both the boys and girls side that will hold true through the top 8. As for the shutouts, it seems there is a premium on good defense in this division. In 16 first round games, there were 11 shutouts, three games in which the losing team scored only 1 goal and only one losing team scored multiple goals. In the Regional Round, only one goal was scored by a single losing team. Maybe now that we are down to 8 teams and only 4 games, we will see some 0-0 games decided by PKs. But, what do I know? We might see each of the 8 remaining teams score in these 4 games. I guess that's why the games are played.....to see what happens.

The top 8 made it through. Only 1 goal scored by a losing team. Now, I think any team can win their game. Who plays best the night of the game.

It doesn't appear there is a whole lot of difference between these 8 teams. The game to watch in my opinion is the ASH NO vs Catholic NI quarterfinal. That one features a #4 seed vs a #5 seed. The same two teams played each other in the finals the past two years. Close seeds and a history between the two teams should make for an exciting game.

ASH is a very good team. With 2 minutes left in the first half at Northlake score was 1-0. By half it was 3-0. Very good speed up front, and great passing up front. Final 9-0. Proud of a very young Northlake team. They will be better next year. Good luck ASH.

Have not seen Loyola play but their schedule indicates a very good team. They play in a weak district that they made up for with good tournaments and upper division teams. I thought they were underranked most of the year. Should be a good match like all of the rest but would be a little surprised if they beat Episcopal.

Having seen both teams play (Loyola@Neville and played Episcopal twice) I would give a slight edge to Episcopal. It all depends on what team shows up on either side.

I think the Quarterfinals were very even. Any given day any team could have won. No team got blown out. Congrats to all the winners yesterday and good luck in the next round.
