I know nothing about Ursuline; given the talent pool in New Orleans I am sure they are solid. Tuerlings does not have much depth but they have great speed, multiple scoring threats and are very solid in the defensive third.

Being the parent of a Club player and high school player for many years, I have come to realize what schools these club players, especially premier, seek out in the New Orleans area. Ursuline Academy is not one of them. The usual suspects are Mt. Carmel and Dominican. Teurlings has competed against Div I teams and faired very well. Ursuline, on the other hand, lost to Div II opponent Lakeshore 3-1, and this was the best team they faced during the regular season. The lady lions may have had a great run, but the buck stops here. Teurlings by a bunch......

Agree with Patriot fan, Ursuline will take the win.

Good retort, but surely you can do better. Why do you think Ursuline will upset Teurlings or take the win. Care to share some widsom on these posts? Or is this just wishful thinking?

Playing both teams I believe coach Winston and Ursilne will keep the score close because he will play a very defensive game. That being said Turlings will be in the scoring third most of the match. Turlings 3-1

Ursuline lost their starting right back to an injury during the warm-up Took their only Goalkeeper out the game within the 1st 10mins as a (concussion) precaution Lost their starting right mid within 15mins to a non-contact lingering injury
Very hard to sustain any opposition with 9 first year players, and 3 Club players. Fought valiantly throughout entire game. At full strength it would have been a much better game, and closer score either way. Great year UA!

When I saw the initial score I was shocked as I have seen both teams play games this year first hand. All things being equal these teams are not 6 goals apart.
Congrats to both teams and coaches.

I agree PatriotFan those teams are not 6 goals apart, but Ursuline can't rely on an 8th grader to carry them. No offense to student athlete or her family. She is a good player.

It's puzzling why Patriot fan & 2soccerfanatic predicted Ursuline over Teurlings in an upset. Maybe it's wishful thinking or they've been drinking the Kool-Aid.
Looking at Ursuline's opponents makes me think that they are the of Terrebonne of Div II (i.e. great record against weaker opponents). Trust me, a 1-0 win over Barbe and a 1-2 loss to Thibodaux is not impressive especially when you're going to play Teurlings.

The Ursuline team, coaches and parents represented their school very well. They played hard, they may have been facing some difficult circumstances but there is a distinct difference in the level of play. Ursuline never threatened; Tuerlings scored 6 goals and neither of their two leading scorers bagged one. As I said in an earlier post, they have multiple scoring threats which is not all that common in HS.
