I am guessing most think the winner of Newman/ASH will win State. Any unbiased or biased thoughts out their? NOLA vs. BR Funny how District foes are facing off for the right to play for state. For the record, I really believe any of the 4 left could win it.

My take on the semifinals I've seen 3 of the 4 teams play. ASH should beat Newman in a close game 2-1 Episcopal over Uhigh 1-0

Did a Newman player get a straight red during their match with PJPII? Does she have to sit out the game against ASH?

I am going Episcopal and Sacred Heart in the finals. Episcopal's mid-fielder and center Defenders are pretty special, they could play anywhere, any division based on what I saw earlier in the year.

That is good. Would hate it for her if she had to miss and for it to be a factor in deciding who moves on. Did a Newman player get a straight red during their match with PJPII? Sorry uhscubs1 I'm giving a slight edge to Episcopal in this one. I know you split earlier matches, I just like home field advantage in this one. Should be a great match!
On the other side of the bracket I'm going with Newman, cause that's who Kosmo Kramer would pick!

I was at a different game and sorry I struck a nerve with you. Not my intention at all. I did not know the severity of the penalty but crazysoccerdad mentioned it in an earlier thread and I did not detect the severity of the penalty in his comments. My comments were not meant to offend you or any other PJPII families. It was more along the lines that there would be no excuses why one team lost. uhscubs1, you sir, are a gentleman. If this post alone were the only one of yours I had ever read on this board, I would know that. However, I have read lots of your posts and can say that I have the utmost respect for the way you handle yourself on this board. It is obvious that you are passionate about your the UHS Soccer teams. However, you never let that passion override your sense of how you should post based on the comments of others. Of the four remaining teams, I have only seen one play recently - ASH. Therefore, I cannot comment on which teams have the best chance to win it all. I can tell you that I will be pulling for the Cubs because a good guy like you deserves to see your team take it. Best of luck to the Cubs for victory and to all the teams for injury free play.

I get it. I wish we were playing at home but we played well there earlier. I believe we can win but it could go either way. Depends on who makes the fewest mistakes. They are missing a senior defender (per the paper) who is hurt. I think she got hurt playing against us the last game and finished the game. Gutsy performance to say the least. It may be a hole they can easily plug but I do not know. Love your Seinfeld reference. I chuckled out loud to that one. Sorry uhscubs1 I'm giving a slight edge to Episcopal in this one. I'm dropping out of this one. I don't see anything good coming out of this discussion. Good luck to the teams still competing and great season to all those ladies whose teams have bowed out graciously!

uhscubs1, not that I'm not pulling for ya in this one, I just gotta make a prediction. I'd love to see the Cubs pull it out. I have a couple nieces and nephews who attend the Lab School. I know they are in your corner! Also my daughter plays club with several of the JV players for UHigh and my son plays club with many of the boys on the varsity and JV squads. So, my heart is with you, but my brain's saying go with Episcopal! Good Luck! Prove me wrong!

banacle13, I do understand and find no fault with any pick. The interesting thing about this game is it is not just a chance to got the state finals but lets just throw in there a good old fashioned rivalry as well. We are rivals in all sports so it is similar to if Auburn and Alabama were playing in the SECCG to decide which one got to go to the BCSNCG.
I am thinking Newman and ASH might be similar at least as far as soccer goes.

We played 3 of the last 4 teams. I can't speak about the cubs but they competed well with Episcopal. ASH has great team speed and push the channels with great purpose. Newman very strong and physical with a superstar of a striker with a great nose for goal. Episcopal put a beat down on us with awesome speed of play and great playmaker in the midfield. If ASH can neutralize the physical play and minimize corners and set pieces they should win in a close one. Again I don't know cubs team but I have to give Episcopal a slight edge at home. Final should be a classic. I can say this: the top 4 teams in DIII are in the semi finals. Congrats to all teams still standing and best of luck the rest of the way. It should be some great soccer.

I truly hope that the games will be as entertaining as this blog. I hope that all of the teams stay healthy and enjoy the game that we all love. Good luck to all the teams left. There are a lot of teams that would love to still be playing.

A straight red with no consequences other than missing the last few minutes of a game (especially if you are up by two goals) is absurd. Why bother with the card? Is this the only venue in the world that allows participation in the next game? I know of no other. LHSAA Soccer has a lot wrong with it if this is the practice. As far as "teenager" and "heat of the moment": so what? Most of these girls, and certainly a player of this stature, play in 50-100 games a year and are experienced beyond their years. Nothing prevents this from happening other than a meaningful consequence. Suspend, then let the school file a review for reinstatement. aka the rest of the world.

The player in question was held out for the first three minutes of the game. We wanted her to play so there wouldn't be any whining when they went down. It was bad enough from the N moms (especially #2's) after their second victory-actually crossed the field after the game in attempt to reprimand the officials.
