Being loud doesn't make him rude. That is his style of coaching and it fires up his players. Trust me, if anything Acadiana is more respected because of him. He is an excellent coach Not only would any program be lucky to have him as head coach, any community would be lucky to have such a civic-minded, hard-working small business owner and dedicated family man in its midst. Excellent coach and a great friend. If being loud makes one rude, I am as rude as anyone out there. Warned the original poster and deleted comment. Had I seen earlier, it would have never made it this long.

...without conseding? I don't doubt Lafayette, but to win this tournament without conseding is a pretty tough task.

We had one team that could not participate, so we need one team to replace them. If your team is interested, please let me know as soon as possible.
Thanks,

JB, or anyone, are the schools listed above in the October post still a good list of the tournament teams? Thanks.

Texsoccer I think Coach Jason would be best to answer that question, but from my standpoint I sure hope they are all still planning to attend! If so this will be one heck of a tournament with so many teams being ranked in top 15 in the LA polls.
Can you give us some insight on any of the TX teams?

Thanks JB. I can only speak for Antonian, our boys are looking forward to the tournament (especially since they're travelling with the girls team!). We know we're going to face very tough competition, but it'll be a good experience and prepare us for our division games. We were our division's champ two years ago, and reached the semi-finals in State last year. We've played less than a handful of games this year, but won all of them. I know the Kelly team, they always put up a solid squad and have previously gone to State. Good luck to all!

The big texas high school association or the smaller one mostly of private schools? I don't remember the names or abbreviations for the Texas high school associations, but it is always fun seeing Texas teams at the Showcase.

Beauchenecoach, all the Texas teams are part of TAPPS, the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools. I guess it's the smaller association you reference, but we're all Division I teams. Simply based on last year's performance, I think Antonian and Kelly will be your stronger teams, but I don't know how the Houston teams are doing this year.

We had played Highland from Dallas area 2 years ago in lower bracket of showcase when we were younger. I think they were same association and had been a powerhouse but in the smaller school divisions. Had a couple players that had worked with Monterray club reserves. One kid was last cut from full time reserve team we were told. Was very fun playing kids of that talent level. Looking forward to seeing the three Texas schools that we have never seen before in the 2 Houston schools and Antonian.

Is that correct? I think highlands was in UIL?

Yes, that's correct, we're all TAPPS. Dallas / Fort Worth has many TAPPS teams also, they're the ones that usually have the powerhouse teams and have taken State in recent years.
