I was a part of and had the opportunity to watch 4 separate whole or part games on the women's side of the State Cup (comp.1 and comp.2 18 year old) this past weekend. It was a pleasure to have officiating that matched the play at these levels. I would like to send out a message to anyone who were a part of these crews. Job well done! They let the women play, communicated with athletes, patient with coaches, consistent calls and when it got to rough made the tough calls! Steve I think you are from this area if you read this message could you please get these comments to these individuals? So many times officials only here about the bad, but not the good!

The referees up here in NWLA do a great job. Milt Magaw and Brian Hall are well organized and maintain a great website for high school soccer in our area. They have even instituted a survey by which we can "grade" referees after every game. Very professional bunch that I know is under appreciated by some, especially grandparents of my players who know nothing about the laws of the game!

I agree that the refs are more accurate and consistent with the calls in the Shreveport/Bossier area than most (and although some parents won't agree no matter who calls the game) it is VERY frustrating when we travel to other locations. The feeling of getting a "Ref job" is talked about for weeks on end. I am very pleased with our ref's in this area. I am still waiting for the day when a parent yells "That was a hand ball on US....come on...do your job"
