The announcers mentioned that FIFA could possibly give an after game red to the Columbian player that punched Abby Wambach. Is this possible? Probable? When would we find out if this was done. I am certainly hoping they do as that was way beyond getting physical in a game.

They would review the match film and take action prior to the next match

I saw that. I am glad they took action. The more I see it, the more upset I get. That was some bovine excrement.

I'm really surprised they haven't banned her from Olympic competition indefinitely. Pardon the pun, but it's kind of a slap in the face of the Olympic ideals. The FIFA 2 game ban may be appropriate for the soccer community, but when you weigh in what the Olympics represent, you have to wonder if the punishment is enough. With athletes being banned because of Tweets (racist or off color), it's shocking she hasn't been sent packing by her delegation.

2 games is basically a ban, as you play 3 in bracket and likely they won't advance. And don't kid yourself, the Olympic ideals went away when they started allowing professional athletes to compete, and it became about sponsorship and money, not amateur athletes
