Refs don't get much good publicity, but I know many refs devote as much time and energy to the game as any of the coaches and players. I've tried researching refs, but not much has come up.
Do any of you have any info on the history of reffing in Louisiana? How about prominent refs that have made it to the Regional or National stages? Don't be bashful. And please hurry with the info. A History of Louisiana Soccer: 1858-2013 goes to print this evening.

Good luck with this. And to think I'm topping out at NPSL/WPSL matches right now...starting to slow down.

I recognize this doesn't make the publication, but if anyone references this thread later it will provide additional history:
Other national refs that attained grade while registered in LA: - Craig Kaster - Charlie Dennison - Bill Zolcer - Aldaberto Suazo
Other notes:
i believe all on happy jacks list called games in one capacity or another with MLS.
Barnes obviously attained the highest games. Dennison and Kaster were the first out of the state. Of the list, I think declouet, borne, and Jacobs are still the most active at the higher levels but none still reside in LA. I think Williams was the most active with pro indoor.

Borne and deClouet no longer on MLS games, Jacobs never was

Thought Jacobs worked a game or two on line, but I didn't see much of his career.
i didn't think any LA official (or those recently from LA) is currently being assigned - just trying to capture some history.
Unfortunately, that's what I'm good at - history.

"Charlie Dennison"
Retired Air Force guy? Had a son who would be in his mid/late 40's now?
If it's who I'm thinking of, nice guy. Had no idea he had been acjieved that high of a rank.

Denison moved away from La to I believe Utah. I remember reading a small article in some publication after he had moved at the minimum of 15-20 years ago. If I'm not mistaken he was the SDA in Louisiana at some point. Never knew he was in the military, he would likely be near or in his 70s by now.

Kati Hulbert also did well one year, getting a final. Wayne Robinson, I believe, was on a final the last time Regionals were in BR

Yes - Dennison was retired military and moved out of state around 20 yrs ago. He rose to national late in his career. Also found one more - Gary Owens started his officiating in BR but later moved to North Texas and made national. A couple of yrs back he was recognized by the North Texas Amateurs and he gave some recognition to some of the SRABR guys for helping with his development.
