I played for Coach Matt Convertino, who is head coach at Holmes CC. Very good coach and Barras should get exceptional coaching.

29 College Commitments to play soccer (and I know of at least 2 more that are all but finalized).
That's a pretty impressive class, 2014! Congrats to all of you!
(and any others out there?)

Mitch Bourgeois from Jesuit High and La Fire Blue has committed to play at Christian Brothers in Memphis, TN Tyler Jr. College is like hitting the lottery. The vast majority of their players end up getting solid scholarships to major (top 20) D1 programs.
In the last several years, TJC has played NCAA D1 teams in exhibitions/spring games. They've only lost once.
My point is they play at a very high level. Year after year they compete (and usually win or make finals) for a national championship.

Congratulations to all that are furthering their soccer careers.
TJC is extremely good! I'm proud to say that we (Centenary) were one of the only teams to beat them in that period where they won 2 national champioships (2-1 in our lone Spring game in 2009. They went on to beat SMU a few weeks later). They definitely outplayed us, but we somehow found a way to beat team. It's a very competitive school, and if Nestor can find his way on the field, he will no doubt be able to get to a big D1 school.

great to see so many of our kids are looking beyond LSU and looking to continue their careers into college and possibly beyond. Several of those players attended our ID camp last year and were able to show the attending coaches and recruiters their abilities. We are doing the same again this year for any players that are interested in college soccer. Attached brochure has all info. Paul Malinich's talented son Andrew was one of the players that attended, im sure Paul could attest to the type of camp that was put on (sorry to put you on the spot Paul ) Attachment Deleted

I was on a 10-day ministry trip in PA & MD and just got back today. I've only been catching highlights on LA Prep during that time. I fully intended to post an endorsement of the camp once I had an opportunity, but thanks for inviting the comments. This is the first of 4 camps that Andrew attended last year. The thing I liked about the camp was the quality training combined with an informal environment with the coaches/recruiters that were on-site. That helped to minimize some of the pressure to perform in those scenarios while still giving plenty of opportunity to demonstrate skills and capabilities. There were many quality players from the area and some from out of the area (like Dril & Thomas from Bolton). As a result, Andrew (and others) started several conversations with several coaches at the camp. It had a good mix of colleges from the broader region (a definite positive). Then he headed out to 3 college-specific camps with good results - Messiah (invited to commit), NC State (invited to commit), and UAB (wanted to continue discussions). This camp both gave him broader exposure to many coaches and helped to prepare him for what he would face in the other ID camps.
