There is an extensive discussion concerning enforcement of uniforms and undergarments. Refs being on the same page would make all our lives easier. Rule 4-1 Home team shall be in white jersey and solid white socks. Visiting team shall wear dark jerseys and socks (not white). Socks DO NOT need to match the jersey. (LHSAA is still allowing teams to wear yellow jerseys after stating they wouldn't, thus, may create "situations" for the refs. So, the assignors agreed ref's alternate jersey would be the USSF green.) If visible apparel is worn under the jersey/shorts, it shall be of similar length, all alike and of a SOLID color. (White compression shorts may be worn under red uniform shorts and visa versa) NOTE: If a team is illegally uniformed, and not able to correct it, the game SHALL be played. The ref should notify the State Association following the game. Now for the common sense section. Our winters are very unpredictable. Not allowing players to wear their gloves because they don't all match is ludicrous. Same with knit hats. If I ref your game, you can be assured your comfort and safety will be my main concern. If you aren't sure if it's allowed, just ask. We can always work something out.

4.1.b says home team in white jersey and white socks. Says visitor in dark jersey and socks, does not specify color of socks.
4.1.a says if color of socks are similar home team changes
4.1.c says visitors wear solid dominant color but does not specify it must be dark or light
4.1 also recommends males wear a protective cup or athletic supporter...I'll let others decide if they feel the need to check those, i won't be!!

Rules state nothing about gloves or hats. Why wild this be an issue? That''s good to hear. I thought our players mentioned that they were told that in our pre-season game so I may be the origin of that discussion. Some may be lumping it in as to consistency... For example, if my compression shorts that stick out an inch or 2 have to be the same as all of my teammates, then my outerwear probably must be as well.

If the color of a players hat must be uniform, will hair color be regulated next? It is just plain silly. As the only honorary US citizen said, "there are some rules up with which I will not put".
Keep it simple, y'all. Can you tell the teams apart? If so, play the game.

Am I the only one who blushes when I see a thread titled "undergarments"?

Someone has already made gloves and hats an issue.

Well, then hopefully a wise assignor sat that person down and explained in plain English how to make sure that issue doesn't happen again.
