Lafayette - 1 @ New Iberia (NISH) - 1 NISH wins 4-3 in pks.
1st half possession: Lafayette: 65%, NISH: 35%; Lafayette used combinations to get ball down field; NISH put good pressure and forced long and soft shots. NISH GK Cy Kipp did an awesome job getting in great position all night. Halftime: 0-0.
2nd half possession: More 50-50. Lafayette had a couple of hard shots but were from distance and not on target. NISH struggled to get quality shots. Very physical game. With about 7 min left Laf #7 finally is able to dribble into front of goal and slid shot under goalie. NISH has a free kick around 3 min left close to corner kick arc. D Alex Glover sends into box and F Trace Gary heads ball back to top of box to M Nick Comeaux who volleys ball into upper 90. Going to OT.
OT has both teams fighting hard for ball but the fatigue shows producing few quality shots. 2nd overtime ends. Going to PKs.
Lafayette up first: Save by Kipp NISH (1): Trace Gary scores Lafayette (2): Scores. Sorry did not get Laf #s NISH (2): D Brett Pichoff scores Lafayette (3): Scores NISH (3): Hits crossbar Lafayette (4): Scores NISH (4): D Alex Glover scores Lafayette (5): Save by Kipp NISH (5): Sr M Nick Comeaux scores
Great game. Lots of action. Lots of heart by both teams.

University 3 @ Ascension Christian 0
UHigh played without a few starters (Kobetz, Miguel, 2 others) who were rested but the Lions put in a good effort to make the Cubs work a little for it.
University is, without a doubt, the classiest and most sportsmanlike team I have ever seen. They played with control and dignity, and Coach Chris Mitchell does an incredible job overseeing his squad.

1/20 District at Pope John Paul II St Thomas Aquinas 1 Pope John Paul II 2 Halftime STA 1 PJP 0 Congratulations to PJP. Great game played by both sides! Recap: 1st half - nice shot from STA forward to lead 1-0 at 34 min mark. Possession 60/40 STA in this rematch. PJP #4 marked by STA. Seemed to neutralize any real threat from PJP. 2 great saves by PJP keeper to end the half. * SOG differential game total -STA 11 PJP -5 2nd half - 31 mins. Corner kick, Goal STA. called back for push off by STA player. Several more nice saves by PJP keeper! 23 min. miscommunication in STA back line, PJP split 2 defenders and finishes past STA keeper for equalizer PJP-1 STA-1. 18 min. #3 STA w/shot for apparent goal. (STA seemed to see ball cross inside the goal, celebrating) keeper pulled the ball back and punted to the dismay of STA players/coach. #4 PJP breaks off manmark and gets behind the defense to finish nice go-ahead goal. 2-1 PJP. STA with a couple more nice SOG. Nice saves by PJP keeper to end the match. * officiating: some of the most inconsistent I've witness by a center referee this year. Something is typically wrong when the both fans are apologizing to the opposing side for calls. That seemed to be the only consistent theme tonight w/regard to officiating. *Before STA fans unfairly label PJP fans for poor conduct, I want to set the record straight. Alllof the PJP fans near me immediately apologized for one idiot in their crowd that yelled "good job"...calling out the players name while STA player layed on the ground. Coaches from both teams assisted the STA player off the field. Good luck in the playoffs PJP!

Great game. Lots of action. Lots of heart by both teams.
Once again... your district can not have PKs or OT to break a tie result of a game. They can only use it to break a tie in standings which is actually voided and made null numthe ruling that all tied teams in district will be co champs and get the auto spot, so,whatever the score was at 80 min regulation whistle... That is final score and a draw (1-1). That is what is to,be reported. Your district can say lets play tiddlywinks after for the lhsaa cares, but that game is a draw by rule. Period. I see one of the teams reported it correctly to lhsaa as a 1-1 draw. There was a district that was wrongly reporting PK wins as wins instead of draws earlier this year and had to get lhsaa to fix it cause the matches were confirmed as the whole district thought these were the rules still.

Your district, from what I'm told, is doing it for practice for playoffs! Original idea, but it doesn't change a score after 80 minutes of regulation is done. I wouldn't risk injury in OT... I understand practicing PK shootouts but refs aren't really needed for that unless they agree to stay. But a meaningless OT, especially in a top quality High level Div I game is very dangerous for accidental, injuries and that would be A travesty. A meaningless and needless travesty that could kill a teams chances at their goal, whatever it may be.
