I thought this goal from Wednesday night's MLS clash between the Chicago Fire and NY Red Bulls might interest you refs.
Down 2-1 in the second half, New York goes into their bag of tricks and tries a sneaky corner kick.
While bringing the ball over to the corner arc, Red Bulls player Lloyd Sam touches the ball once, and discreetly nudges the ball slightly towards the goal with another touch, thus initiating the play. Sam then jogs back like nothing happened as teammate Sacha Klejstan comes over to "take" the corner kick. Instead of a normal cross, Klejstan takes off sprinting toward the goal and plays it across for an easy tap-in, catching the Fire completely off-guard.
The Fire immediately protest, but the linesman was fully aware of what the Red Bulls players were doing, and acknowledged them. Some people still think it was an illegal act.
What do y'all think?
For what it's worth, Chicago should have immediately sent at least one player over towards the corner flag as soon as they saw two opponents there, so that's poor coaching/lazy defending on their part. Lucky for them, they went on to win 3-2.

This isn't exactly a new "trick". The only argument they would have is for a two-touch violation at the set up but a lot of players shift the ball with their feet, so I don't think the spirit of the law is violated. Fire got caught sleeping.

Fire got caught sleeping. Agreed. At this point, it should be expected that anyone who has two players near the corner should be defended by at least one player tracking over. Fire just got caught.

I'll go with 3 touch so it should be disallowed. If they're going to do the trick, touch should be by hand to place, not by foot.
