I'm sure many of you have heard the news by now, but in case you haven't:
There was a large, coordinated terrorist attack in Paris tonight.
Ahead of their friendly match tonight against France, the German national soccer team was evacuated from their hotel this morning by French police after an anonymous bomb threat was made. Unfortunately, it turns out the threat was very real, as dozens of casualties have occurred, including many fatalities. Hundreds of hostages, including Americans, have also been taken by the Syrian attackers, who seem to be affiliated with ISIS.
Several bombs exploded just outside the Stade de France during the match. The French president was evacuated from the stadium. The game finished 2-0 to France, but I think the players were all pretty shellshocked at hearing what was going on outside. The players are still being kept on the field by police, along with tens of thousands of civilians fleeing for safety.
Tune into your local news station for updated info on the attack. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew about it.
Sorry to be the bearer of this horrifying news.

i wonder if UEFA will possibly move the euro this summer to a country deemed safer. France's terror alert has been at its highest possibly since the attacks a little while ago and certainly won't go down now.

Update as of 6 pm CT (1 am in Paris).
The city of Paris has been placed under martial law for the first time since the Nazi withdrawal of France in June 1944.
The French borders have been closed, a state of emergency has been declared, a curfew instituted, and all law has been suspended until further notice.
At least 50 are confirmed dead, likely several hundred casualties.
