AC's fourth annual Lion Cup is starting to shape up very well and will be our strongest field of teams yet. So far the commitments include:
Ascension Christian Covington Pope John Paul II Country Day Houma Christian Grace Christian Riverside Academy Central-BR Deridder Lee
Hahnville St Amant Live Oak-replacing Hahnville
OUR BRACKET IS NOW FULL! Interesting group of teams--with Deridder and PJP we have school from west border to east border coming in to play. Looks like a great event.
3 game guarantee. Teams will play one game EITHER Thursday or Friday, and the remainder on Saturday. Scheduling considerations will be made for the teams travelling the furthest. Entry fee is only $210.
We have a great facility and have enjoyed a lot of success with this event during its first three years. We will glad to host teams that aren't able to get into the Copa, and will do our best to give each participating team a chance to play against schools not normally on their schedule. Email me ay raylinton@cox.net, or rlinton@aclions.org if you are interested.

We have had major schedule issues due to Riverside Academy withdrawing and then weather related problems with Monday and Tuesday nights rain affecting the field at Ascension Christian. Thanks to some excellent patience shown by the participating coaches, we have been able to overcome our problems and keep going with Lion Cup. We werent able to find a replacement for Riverside, so we will play in an unbalanced format. Also, Thursday nights game schedule has been moved to Friday evening and both Thursday and Fridays games have been moved to Tee Joe park in Gonzales. We will play as previously scheduled on Saturday at Ascension Christian.
The schedule is below

Hats off to Coach Inman & his boys on a well-played match. Difficult to come out after a long, delayed bus ride & play with that kind of inspired effort. Every 50-50 ball challenged hard. Unfortunate to lose on a PK with about 3 min left.

Thanks for the compliment Coach Miller. The boys had to step up for a match against a quality side. Focusing quickliy and working hard, in spite of not quite perfect conditions, is a testament to their character. A fair result based on the level of play would have been a draw. I didnt see the foul so I can't comment on it. What I did see is the strongest Live Oak squad we have faced in my time at CHS. You guys will be tough to handle no matter who you play. I see a lot of success coming your way. Good luck and good health to your squad this season.

Ascension Christian 3 Lee 3
Lee goes up 1-0, then AC rolls off three for a 3-1 halftime lead. Lee capitalizes on two second half mistakes and comes back for the tie. Lee is much improved and new coach Aubrey Lee has done a good job getting them organized and playing well.
AC goals: Ian Carter, Logan St Pierre, Tyler Blanchard AC assists: Bohdi Linton (2)
