Can any of you in Girls ODP players/parents share some current info on the program as in experience good or bad, costs, amount of travel, locations and schedules, etc. I can read about the program specs online but like to hear actual opinions from those that have done it or currently in it.

I played ODP on the Boys side and my sister played ODP as well and it was a great experience for both of us. I played as a 1990 player for coach Godwin who is in charge of ODP now and when my younger sister played. It was a great experience for me and I hear they now do International trips with the State teams. The coaching I received was far better than my club team and the only issue back then was that we didn't meet enough times but I think that has changed. I know more players are going on to play in college than in my day and ODP has a huge impact on that. My sister got recruited by her ODP regional coach and there were plenty of College coaches at the region camp. I'm always hearing from the players that I coach now and play in ODP that they are always trying to make it better. I would recommend ODP to any player who is serious about playing at the next level.

I think they have improved this year but I know a lot of people who were dissatisfied especially after Bruce left. The coaches are club coaches. In some instances, they were the better coaches for the club but in some they were less experienced and quite honestly subpar. However, if your child realistically can compete for a spot on a regional team then I think even if the coaching is less than idea, it's definitely worth it.
Again, I heard that they were working to improve the program and some really enjoy it. If it's something your child wants to do and you have the funds, probably worth trying.

I also had played ODP for two years as an 00 and I really enjoyed my experience. At our club my team has had high level coaching , but at ODP it was almost if not just as good. It was also awsome to get a different view on the game and learning a new formation. Honestly tho the best part was the memories. I met a lot of new, talented kids who I would never had met otherwise. I would defenitaly recommend to atleast try it one year.
