The best game that I have seen this year if that counts was Westgate vs. Comeaux. Well played by two skillled teams. Good officiating, and good sportsmanship on both ends.

I would like to see Jesuit play Acadiana. Both teams have skilled players and play beautiful soccer. I think Jesuit would win, it would be really enjoyable to watch.

I think the best games are rivalry games.
I would like to see BM/Jesuit play. However, I think Jesuit is too good right now, for it to be that good.
I will take the "hate rivalry" anyday. Lafayette and Acadiana are always very similar in the strength of their respective teams and lately the games always are determined by 1 point. Last one went to OT, the next one should be a dog fight as well.
As far as best game I have seen all year, Lafayette/BM was a good one. St Martin/Dutchtown was a good one. If I had to pick the most entertaining game, I would say Cpt. Shreve vs. Clinton MS in Showcase. No team had that big of an advantage over the other and it was back and forth all game. Add in a few yellows and a red and this game was the most enjoyable to watch, even if the score ended 0-0.

In D1 Jesuit vs. Lafayette always a great game that is sometimes the D1 final. High level of play. D2 Any game involving D-town, Vandy, and STM All three of these teams are good but I think Vandy stands out a little. But D-town and STM both have solid teams. D3 St. Martins vs. University 2 younger teams in D3 that will be dominate this year and next.

anytime the rams and lions play its fun to watch. both teams have talent and both teams hate to lose to one another. caddo and shreve are probable like that as well, and anytime jesuit rummel and brother martin play each other it is a war. it doesn't get much better than these games.

For nondistrict/nonrivalry games I would chose Acadiana v Catholic BR. Last year's playoff game was one of the best soccer games of the year. Their meeting at the Showcase was also a good game with both teams playing a possession ball control type of soccer which I enjoy. Also, I will say that both teams supporters are some of the best.

i agree with spectator about last year's catholic acadiana game, that's why I am going to go with Lafayette/Catholic.

I agree that the Lafayette/Catholic BR game should be a good one. I wish it was in BR rather than Lafayette. Regardless, Catholic has to win its first two games against good opponents to get there. I hope they follow the "coachspeak" of taking it one game at a time, or it may be Covington or Mandeville agaist Lafayette. Those matchups would not be near as good. (Ha ha)

I hope Lafayette does the same spec. I don't think they've ever played Ruston in the playoffs, but the last time they traveled to Byrd in the playoffs, they lost. And that's only if they can beat a good St. Amant team.

man McScruff......12 year stretch to find that one. I am sure the Byrd team back then is much different from the Byrd/Ruston team of today. It's good to be modest and humble, but let's not go overboard. Lafayette and Byrd met in 2003 and Lafayette won 2-0. I remember the game, becasue I always thought Byrd was blue for some reason and not purple. Lafayette pretty much played around with them all game. If they meet in the second round, I expect the same.

It was 3-0 and it was one of the ugliest games I have ever seen. In fact, one of the players in that game confessed to me the other day that "they just wanted to go home." I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.
As for that game in '93, I remember because I was there. It was bitter cold and Lafayette was heavily favored like they would be in the second round this year. That is why I brought it up.
There is no doubt in my mind that Lafayette is a much better team than Byrd, but in the playoffs, you can't take any team lightly. One "off game" and you're going home.
PS - Get some sleep, dude.
