Loyola-ranked 5th in the State almost had it handed to them by Neville whom I believe is ranked the worse team ,3-2 last night. Loyola was down 0-2 at half. How do you soccer prognosticators explain that?

St. Freds definately didnt even play Caddo Magnet this year and I'm sure if they did, the score wouldnt be tied, I'm sure Caddo could pull away with a win atleast 2-0. Aside from the fact that futebal16 was talking about west monroe tying Caddo 1-1 and not SF. How do you know SF wouldn't give you a tough game or even beat you? You tied west monroe 1-1. We completely dismantled west monroe 8-0. I'm not sure where your logic comes from to pre-assign yourself a 2-0 shutout victory. Just curious...

In regard to the Loyola comment, the coach did not start 3 starters(all who play on the 17 year old SFC team). This resulted in two inexperienced players starting on defense. Neville goals occurred during this 20 minute period. Once the starters were put in Neville did not score and only had several shots on goal. All of the players were on the all district team last year and one was all city and the leading goal scorer and second in assists. Hopefully this explains the score. The Ruston game was the same way where the coach only started 10 players to punish a player who forgot their jersey. In that game they were missing several starters and their best player who was still playing in showcases with a club team out of Jackonson Miss.

Oh hell, I don't know... Just my prediction, we've had a pretty strong year beating Shreve (#6 DI), and tying Mandeville (#10 DI) and Newman (#2 D3)... Im just guessing... West Monroe was kind of a bad game... it was at Tinsley where the fields were cut shorter 7 yeards on each side, that wasnt good and it was a damp and cold night... No excuses, you're right, but we won the tourney and that's all that matters. Sorry if it critisized you, it's just my thoughts and prediction.

In regard to Gehrad unless you went to the game and know who the Loyola starters are: How about a little less talk and a lot more shut the he... up.

I saw a poll yesterday that has Newman ranked above University. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE when Newman loses to Woodlawn 4-2, and University beats Woodlawn 6-0??? The only losses University have encountered have been to 5A schools. University isn't 5A last time I checked.
University has only lost one game as of late, and that was to a very strong Brother Martin. Newman has lost three....to Woodlawn, St. Martin's, and I believe Mandeville. Granted St. Martin's and Mandeville are strong, but Woodlawn struggles this year.
I think this is a disservice to University and their accomplishments so far this year.

As though you look at scores to compare, its hard to rank them among common teams played against... that is what makes polls so hard
Because some teams match up better speed wise, talent wise, or maybe formation wise, which makes for a better game... Some teams execute better on certain days... So it's very hard to rank some teams, but you do what you can... Unless you watch every team play, which nobody does, rankings will always be questionable and have their vulenrable points

Division II top 4 should be interesting in the next poll.
Does Vandy continue to get all the first place votes? Do they split them with Ben Franklin or will they be dispersed across three or 4 of the top teams?
I for one still think Vandy is the team to beat. Obviously they have some big wins this year and losing one district rivalry by a goal on the other team's field while disappointing to them isn't a sign that they are in a slump or anything.
That being said...I don't expect we'll see Vandy garner all of the first place votes in the next poll...and probably rightfully so.

To answer soccer2006: They were Ray Krebs late for 2 practices, Stephen Smith missing a practice, and Ryan Wargo not sure.

St. Martin's did not lose. THey play E.D. white on Wednesday. Before posting information please make sure you have the right information. The score in the paper is also wrong because St. Martin's beat belle chase 5-2 not 5-3.

If you read everything, the person who posted that e.d.white beat st. martin's appoligized and was mrs informed on the oppenant... We have started a new thread to show this, and have address it on most threads.... The score may have been a typo, or a misprint in the newspaper

From today's newspaper after yesterday's Brother Martin v Rummel game
Brother Martin 17-5 . . . 5-1 Rummel . . . . 16-6-1 . . 3-3
BM will play Holy Cross on Wednesday.
Jesuit has games remaining with BM and Rummel.

That is correct. Rummel did lose twice to the BM and once to Jesuit. They play Jesuit at Rummel at the end of next week, I believe.
