If a player's dream is to play at Spring Hill or LSU-Eunice, that should be supported 100% and never denigrated. But were some of those players really dreaming of playing at Duke and ended up at those schools through no fault of their own, but because the system is biased against them in Louisiana? Everybody's "big prize" is different and unique to them and should be respected. Problem occurs when you mix players who want to play D2 with players who want to play top D1, the level of training, sacrifice, and the required league of play are entirely at odds. That's the point of this thread, separating out the kids who want to play high level D1 to give them a fighting chance at THEIR dream. And the very attempt to do so angers the people who don't have that ambition. Are those 5 Fire teams constructed so that all of the top talent is concentrated on one team? Well said - it's always a challenge when you have players who truly want to play at the top level, and even on their D1 team, the commitment is not 100% there from ALL of the players and parents. Realistically speaking only a few are willing to do more to be more, and it definitely hinders the ability of the committed players (here in LA) to have opportunities to play in front of prospective D1 coaches. MLS Next would solve this problem

For the girls side it is completely accurate. The team numbers drop significantly for the oldest age groups. For boys side, are the three other B teams 02's or '03s? And are you saying that it is understood that the "B" team players are playing for fun only? Or is there still some idea that there could be higher level college soccer in their future? My point is simply that the creation of multiple diluted teams is a marketing smash success for the clubs. That's where their money is, and congrats to Fire as a business for pulling it off. But that doesn't help the elite players get to the next level, which is what this thread is about. There are 2 02 teams and 3 03 teams for Fire.
