I think that if this season has shown us anything, it is that almost every team in D1 is vulnerable on any given day. The smart money would be on Jesuit, as they have played the most consistent soccer all season. That being said though, I would not be surprised if a team comes out of nowhere and either beats them on the way to the final, or that a dark horse team lines up against them in the final. Its all about matchups once the playoff pairings are announced, and we could see some top teams matched up in the first round--meaning that some will get knocked out early. I think the Comeaux/Lafayette game right now is the biggest of the year so far, as it SHOULD go a long way towards determining the 3-2 and 3-3 place(I think Acadiana is going to end up taking the district--the early wins combined with the upsets of Comeaux and Laffy are too much to overcome this late)
If a couple of the top teams end up eliminating each other early, then that opens things up a bit for the dark horses. We can hear all the rhetoric that folks want to throw out there about how"they havent played their best, we used our jv, we had guys that were hurt" etc etc but there have been too many upsets this year to think that we wont see some in the playoffs. i say we make Jesuit the favorite, and then watch how it all plays out.

coach ray. Nobody in the state is near the calibur of jesuit. They play so quick and are so patient i don't see anyone beating them. Last year there was talk about them goin undefeated and this years team is alot better. I don't see them loosing to a team in Louisiana at all.

I mostly agree with you about Jesuit, but I will point out that Comeaux tied them early this season, and Brother Martin took them into the last minute of 2 overtimes. Anybody can get beaten. Granted, it might take all of the planets lining up and a light shining down from God himself--but hey, that has happened before. All I said was that we shouldnt be surprised with any upsets, because this years play has been so topsy-turvy. I still think Jesuit is the team to beat.

What strategy for lafayette? They arn't playing well enough to beat jesuit now. If he's playing people out of position that is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard of. You should take each game one at a time. He's overlooking everyone they have played if that is his strategy. You want to be peaking right before the playoffs like your last 2-3 regular season games then come on strong in the playoffs. This just doens't seem sensible to me.
