Nothing like a rivalry game. Westgate over NISH by 2, just a guess though. Could be close but I'm pretty sure Westgate will be too much for NISH to handle.

should be a pretty good game, because nish always shows up to play at home. westgate needs to get a win to keep up with carencro in the district race. good luck to all.

Still think Westgates too much for NISH to handle?
Westgate shanked all their shots in the shootout. NISH made all of theirs. Westgate shanked a lot durin the game too. The NISH guys did a good job of saving a few shots that would have definately found the back of the net. It was a good game and both teams played well. Props to all of em.

Any more insights into this game? I would have thought Westgate would have possessed the ball something like 75/25.
And if they did, how did they lose?
This does not bode well for the Tigers.

Are you guys serious? Dont try to make it seem that nish played better. It was a good game to watch and all but.... Westgate 17 shots as opposed to nish's 8. On goal: at halftime i know it was westgate 4 and nish 0...but idk after that. It's westgate's fault for not putting in a shot, but its pretty strange to see the ball hit the post 4 times in one game.

Westgate ouplayed Nish bigtime. Westgate possed about 80% of the game and all nish did was pack the box and try to go into shootouts. They were even practicing penalty kicks beofre the game. They didnt even play to win they just wanted to go into shootouts. Wesgate hit the post 4 or 5 times and jus couldnt hit the back of the net. It should of been Westgates game. Nish just played with their flatback 8 and took them into shootouts and won.

Well everyone knows NISH likes to pack the box, if thats what makes them competetive let them do it... Do I agree with it? No... But the coach has to do what they do best, and if packing the box works best for them, then so be it... It is the oppenant's fault for not capeltalizing...
To beat a pack the box team i think you give the ball to your keeper and do a quick counter up the field, because they can't have that many, but thats just me

great job new iberia. but, you have to give westgate some props. They had control of a large portion of the game and kept new iberia's defense on their toes. Westgate has some great talent. But, nish played tough and was very relentless. They definitely wanted this game, and had their hearts in it. AND as for the shootout, westgate shanked their shots, NISH made them simple as that. GREAT job boys. ;D

No one said anythin about NISH playin better than Westgate. WHS did dominate most of the game yes, but that still doesnt change the fact that they shanked a LOT of their shots. They had time to capitalize on their set plays but they didnt come through. Westgate had good passing game although their shots werent exactly on frame, as we already stated. Everytime the NISH players would apply pressure Westgate would try to force a pass or they played with it too much. Westgate did a great job but they should of been prepared for anything....including PKs. Don't try to take anything away from either teams because both teams played a good hard game. NISH knew it would be a close game and was ready for the shootout if it was to come down to it. Westgate came into the game way too confident. They thought they had the game before they even stepped on the field. They wanted it too bad. Both teams did. You bussin on NISH cuz they were workin on PKs. But um, who made all theirs? NISH! Who shanked all theirs, Westgate. Maybe you should do the same. It was a good game, dont take anything away from NISH. They deserved it just as much as Westgate did.

TEXT Alrite.. ima give Westgate their props bc they did play really hard.. but Nish played probably the best I've ever seen them play, ever.. I have to give Brandon Stevens and Chris Charpenter as the MVPs of this game.. they, the two goalies were awsome.. but when it comes to PKs its hard to judge them.. i know.. well this was the game of the year.. soo far..

So, lemme get this straight: Westgate possessed the ball 80% of the game, but NISH won??? Hm. Waitaminute. Someone just told me that NISH received a red card in the second half. So that means that NISH finished the game short-handed, and Westgate STILL couldn't score???
