hey everyone it has been a while. to hdkiga and oldref thanks for the kind words about my son. i am very proud of him. NOW what about dist. 3 i see this week as a very important week for the rams. they play a very dangerous como team tuesday @como and then the big game against lafayette on friday! the rams can't afford to over look como even though como has had some injury problems. i see this game as a must win for the rams if they what to win district,(maybe they don't so they will throw the next 4 games, WOW what a joke). if they beat como then look for them to win district.
the game friday will truely be a classic. as boomboom has told us over and over again lafayette is getting better every game, (and he is right), it looks like coach belfour has found his starting lineup. trust me when i tell you this the rams want this game as bad as they have ever wanted it. to sweep the lions would be a great accomplishment. i'm going with my rams 3-2 maybe even in overtime. i honestly think both of these teams will go very deep in the playoffs and hopefully meet in the finals. i know dist nine and cat. BR will try and stop this from happening.
carencro looks to be in the drivers seat for third with como finishing 4th. good luck to all teams.
what do ya'll think?

Playing for Lafayette High, I believe that Friday will be a great game, but i feel our defense is getting better every game and our offense and if we come out to play like we did against como and play our best...I feel itll be im thinking 2-0. I know im being biased but thats just what I feel and for the Como and AHS game look for AHS to win about 3 or 4-0. There offense will be too much for them and como might just quit like they did against us, but i know itll be a good and important game for both. Good luck

I don't believe AHS will be scoreless. LHS might defeat them (they are about the only team in district who can right now), but it won't be a shutout. Based on what I've seen so far, though, I pick AHS in this one in a close, hard-fought match.
As far as Comeaux goes, I'll agree that AHS can't take the win for granted. But with the injuries, at least one of whom that probably won't play against AHS, Comeaux will have a hard time beating them.
I pick AHS by 2-3 goals.
Goat, I have to say that I truly respect the team at AHS. They are a pleasure to watch. Tons of skills, and lots of class on the field.
Also, I wish your son well in his service for our country. May God bless and protect him wherever he is assigned.

quick minor correction:
Cro still has to play Acadiana and Lafayette
Comeaux just has to play Acadiana left
I think Comeaux is sitting pretty in third becasue of their early season win over Lafayette.

Acadiana/Comeaux game is crucial. If Lafayette is to have any chance at the district title, Acadiana has to drop this one. Comeaux is staggering right now, and has to find some momentum. Everyone knows they will come out and play with heart. Acadiana has to fight off the urge to look towards the Friday night game and handle business. Acadiana wins this one, and the district title is all but gone for Laffy.
I dont know that Comeaux is sitting pretty just yet. they have to play Acadiana, and perform well down the stretch. Westgate could have had a say in everything, but got the big oops with NISH. Westgate still might have a chance to make a late season run with Carencro having Lafayette and Acadiana, but its uphill. My picks down the stretch. Acadiana loses to Lafayette, but sweeps the rest and wins the district--gets a home game against........somebody--might not be Woodlawn with Woodlawns loss to Tara yesterday. Lafayette wins the rest but finishes 2nd--hosts a 1st round game with Baton Rouge HS. Comeaux benefits from Carencros tough late season schedule and takes third--gaining an away match with Capt Shreve, and carencro stumbles in an #4, also heading north to Caddo.

Acadiana plays Nish this tuesday and not Comeaux. We play Comeaux next tuesday.

Nothing like having a game between a team that has everything to prove and a team that essentially has nothing to lose. Probably a bit of an exageration for Acadiana but certainly an understatement for Lafayette High. LHS-3 AHS-1 in Friday's game. I just hope Lafayette doesn't have a downturn in performance after the one-sided affair with Barbe. The starters came out a bit flat in the second half and I was glad when they got pulled.

this friday night will tell us alot about both teams. lafayette will be trying to make a statement that they are the best team in the district and acadiana will try and sweep lafayette for the first time in a long time, or maybe even ever. lafayette can still win district if they win out and acadiana stumbles against como or cro. if acadiana wins the worst they could do is tie for first. this sould be a great game to watch. i'm looking forward to seeing mcsruff, hdkiga, and goat there. i hope we have a great crowed and good luck to both teams. rams win in a close one.

Player for player Lafayette has this one, but style of play I think the edge goes to Acadiana. Acadiana has the two best players in LeBlanc & Credeur, and stars shine in the big game. Lafayette will most likely out shoot Acadiana, but I'm going Acadiana in a close one, but I won't be shocked if Lafayette wins either.
Acadiana 3 Lafayette 2

Acadiana wins this game and they win the district title(they will be 12-0, everyone else will have at least 3 losses with only 2 games to play). If Acadiana wins and so does Cro, it makes next weeks Laffy/Cro game huge--Cro wins there and Laffy drops to third. Nothing like District 3!
I predict Acadiana over Lafayette 2-1--Acadiana will be motivated to wrap up the district title now(they have the toughest road over the last three games), and then put it on cruise control for the rest of the regular season.

Sorry...LHS has way too much to prove and too much to lose. They also have found their lineup and I think AHS will recognize that Belfour in the middle third makes LHS a whole different team, which has made many of the LHS starters better at their own positions. AHS will play a tough game, but the intangible variable of a lack of motivation because the district is already decided, at least in the minds of the players, will be a factor. As for Carencro beating LHS at this point of the season... For the players from LHS who review these threads, I would ask myself this question. "Do I want to be remembered as the team that won the State Championship but got swept in the District by Acadiana?" Uh...I don't think so. Then all of those comments that we have seen about LHS tanking the District to avoid Jesuit, whether it's true or not, will come back to haunt them.

The kicker is that if Lafayette loses this game they are still in 3rd. Even if they lose to Cro also they will be tied with Cro for third and Cro still has to play Acadiana also. If Cro were to beat Acadiana and Lafayette win out from that point, Cro and Lafayette would play again to see who is #2 and who is #3. It's been about 4 or 5 years since there has been an undefeated champion of district 3. Honestly, I don't think this year will be different. Lafayette 4-2. Final prediction. I know LeBlanc and Credeur and Saboe, and Wilks will be on their game, but Lafayette seems to be a team that is out to make a statement. They have found their rhythm and are hitting on all cylinders.
I gave Comeaux too much credit earlier in this thread. Their loss to Westgate could really come back to bite them. It's amazing to me that Comeaux can beat Lafayette twice and yet lose to NISH and Westgate. Then again how can Westgate beat Comeaux and then lose to NISH. Anyway, give credit to NISH as they seem to be progressing.

all good pionts lhssoccerfan but remember the first game? belfour was playing in the middle with todd, just like now. so i don't buy that arguement, the one about motivation i do buy. acadiana will be ready to play and it should be a good game. both teams are in the playoffs and both teams should go deep in the playoffs. i still think the rams win a close one.

Frankly hdkjga, as I mentioned in another thread, I was shocked to see Westgate beat CHS also...I wouldn't have bought that prediction by any means...

aw come on ref. Belfour played in the middle a little in the first game, but not THAT much. He would drop back there when Belfour needed to rest one of his mids. Also Hardy was still in the middle, Todd was all over the place(Sweeper???), Ballingansta was just coming back and wasn't near his usual form, and the defense was a complete mess. But, if you need to tell yourself that the team that is going to beat Acadiana on Friday night isn't that different from the first time they played then go ahead. Keep kidding yourself. Whatever it takes to sleep at night, eh? j/k
But seriously, I think Lafayette wins in a VERY good d3 game. I'll go with 4-2 with Lafayette getting an insurance goal VERY late. I imagine(I hope, actually) that the when the clock reads 2:00 the score will be 3-2 and Acadiana will have the ball in the offensive third, making me very nervous. Lafayette will "get away" with some sort of phantom handball which will lead to another tirade from Goat and a Lafayette counter for the insurance. That's how I would write the script, anyway.
