Do those coaches even know Vandy lost to Ben Franklin? How does Episcopal get a vote? It makes no sense to me.

I think that most of the coaches are aware of the Vandy / Ben Franklin result, but still feel in the long run that Vandy is the better team. As for the vote for Episcopal-BR, I cannot explain.

St. Louis, a 6th ranked team with a #1 vote? haha. Just goes to show how rediculous the coaches' poll is. I think our polls are a lot more accurate.

Bish I have to agree.
D1 poll looks about right.
D2--Vandy lost to BF. BF lost to Dutchtown. Dutchtown should be #1. D-town losses this year--St Martins (3-2), Rummel (3-0), Mandeville (1-0), Bro Martin (pks--actually pks were for bracket advancement tiebreakers-game was a 0-0 draw) and St Amant (2-1). All quality losses against top teams. Right now Vandy is NOT better than BF...for those that disagree---SCOREBOARD.
D3-University should be #2-at least. Newman has been spotty at best--they are getting ranked on rep, not results.
LaPrep poll is much better

I also agree. Yes laprepsoccer readers...i agree with CoachRay40.
I do think that the team of the week was Pineville. If they can do what they did, and remain 7th in the polls, then credit must be given to them. Teurlings must not be discouraged, as they are only 3 points off going up a few places.
But having said that I am sure they are not concerned with their position on the poll, as much as their position in the state playoffs.

DII I think alot of people is overlooking Bolton...they have beating ASH(Alexandria) twice this year...1-0 and 4-3 last night... They have some talent in #10 and #6 for them and can play very well...just asked Sulphur...

Sulphur is not that good this year, and they still beat them. So I'm not sure what you are trying to say about Bolton.

If you look at the past few years, everyone complains about the coaches poll. But at the end of the season, the poll usually pans out to be pretty accurate.

The LAprep poll has always been more accurate than the Coaches' poll. The reason is simply because the person or people who have done the poll for the past five years put more thought into the rankings. You can't really blame the coaches, though, because they don't exactly have as much free time as the people who spend time on the internet.
The Coaches' poll has traditionally been inaccurate. It usually gets the first three or four positions right, but after that, it's almost the same 4-10 positions every year, regardless of how those teams are doing. I can remember in Division III how Country Day held at the number 5 spot for about five straight years despite having losing records at times. Episcopal BR has also been another coach favorite.
It wasn't until the LAprep poll (Scott Crawford's) that teams in the north got any respect in Division I. Caddo was undefeated one year, and made it to the Finals at the St. Paul tournament (best tournament in the state at that time) and still were unranked by the coaches.
In Division II, Bishop Sullivan along with Woodlawn always gotten the benefit of any doubt.
The so-called competition of the LAprep poll has made the coaches who vote in the Coaches poll do more research in their voting.

You are right about the coach's poll. Some schools are always in the top 10 just based on reputation. As for Bishop Sullivan this year I feel a 6th place ranking is about right. They have played d-town 0-0, and 0-1 and lost to Salmen in OT 3-2. Not wins but show they can play respectably with top teams in DII.
