What are some of the remaining games left for the contenders. And who may end up being the spoilers for the teams above them.

for the first time in a long time dist. 3 might not have four teams in the playoffs. if como and westgate don't have a winning record at the end or if they just have a 500 record i'm not sure they will be picked as a wildcard team. i think goat and hdkiga know more about the way the playoffs work than i do so maybe one of them or even someone else who knows can clear this up.

ref--
me and H have been discussing this on another thread. I didnt believe a team with a sub .500 record in district would make it at all (H disagreed)--now it looks like there will be more than few that will. Still makes it intriguing as to who might get in. If there are 4 or 5 teams who are 3's or 4's with losing records in district, then teams like 2-3 and 9-4 might have chance (albeit a long shot). Dont count anybody in OR out just yet
Like Yogi Berra said--"It aint over til its over."
H--do we have any idea as to the standings in District 2?
All of this being said, Comeaux is in trouble. They have to pull it together, or their playoff aspirations are history.

Whats the rest of the schedule look like? I know westgate has barbe, sulphur, and i believe its lafayette left. Who does comeaux and carencro have left. It should be interesting to see who is gonna get wildcards this year.

what happens if the unthinkable accurs and their is a 3 way tie for 4th? All 3 teams westgate, comeaux, and cro have split games with each other. Westgate would have to either beat lafayette or hope cro and or comeaux slip up against sulphur or barbe. It could happen but its a long shot. What would happen in this senario?

Yogi Berra also said, "There are some people, who if they don't already know, you can't tell them."

In the case of a three-way tie for 3rd, I am ont sure what would happen. If Cro beats Sulphur Friday the worst they could finish is tied for 4th. Comeaux needs to win 2 of their last 3 to guarantee at least a tie for 4th and they have NISH and Barbe in those last 3 games. Westgate needs to win out and get help. WG's saving grace right now is the fact that NISH also knocked off Comeaux. Comeaux has been on a downward spiral lately and if NISH sneaks out another win against them, then it will hit the fan. Basically, we know Acadiana and Lafayette are in the play-offs. As far as the other two teams, it may go down to the end of district play.
Prediction: Acadiana 13-1 Lafayette 12-2 Carencro 8-6 Comeaux 8-6 Westgate 7-7 Sulphur 4-10 NISH 3-11 Barbe 1-13
That's where I think they will fall. This is assuming there are no major upsets in the top 5 teams.

I have been out of the loop in terms of the protocol for placement and they may have changed. Does that mean, if what you are saying comes true, that Carencro and Comeaux will have to play for third place or is there some other criteria...?

I think they would have to play a game against each other since they split the season. If one of them would have won both games, they might win out on the tie-breaker. THen again they may have to play the gaem anyway.
If what I predicted happens then they would have to play each other and the winner would be third.

Sulphur and Carencro tied for third last year in district, and had split during the year. They had a tiebreaker game to decide who was third and who was fourth.
