Just thought it might be nice to have these available as the rules are different from what we play during the year.
Match ends in tie--5 Minute Break
1. Coin Toss 2. You play 2 Full 10 Minute Periods. with a 2 minute break between periods. 3. If still tied-- another coin toss and 2 minute break 4. 5 minute sudden-victory overtime period 5. If still tied-2 minute break-change sides 6. Final 5 minute sudden victory overtime period 7. If still tied--PKs.

what is the coin toss for? You forgot to mention the final coin toss to decide who wins the match, if it's still tied after 5 PKs.

WoW it looks like we have some officials on the board because coaches sure don't know any of the rules!! HAHAHA
Seriously though, ShreveDad got it correct but forgot to mention switching sides between the 2 mandatory 10's.
And yes the coin toss is to choose sides, ball, or first with kicks from the spot!
And as for kick from the spot, the 2nd 5 kickers must be different from the first 5 and then #11 can start a second round through the players. Anyone on the roster (not the field) may shoot (except as previously mentioned ejected players). A player cautioned during the kicks may not shoot until the next round of kickers.
Good luck to all the playoff teams!!

Yep, got a couple of matches tonight at Indy. Our assignor asked us to review the overtime rules in the book. I can never remember, so I figured some others with memories as bad as mine would need reminding as well.

The shoot-out (PKs) continues til there is a winner. No, the new rule is you flip a coin to determine the winner after 5 PKs.

OK Bish, are you trying to be cute? Let me know if you'd like a complete official copy of the "Tie Game Procedures" from LHSAA. I'll fax it or e-mail it to ya, whichever is easiest...

I wrote "The Game Procedures" so don't you question me on what I wrote about. The game ends on a coin flip. END OF DISCUSSION.

How long is each regualtion half?
|
|
|
Post by cardsinhand on Feb 4, 2005 16:32:56 GMT -6
Each half of regulation is 40 min. plus added time for when the clock is stopped for goals, cautions/ejections, and injuries. So even though we say it is a 40 min half it may go longer.

Sorry but I have to add that I thought this was funny. Last night at the game I was at, I heard parents/fans yelling loud enough for the officials to hear as the players were coming off the field at half time "Good 42 minute half girls!" I always wonder if people think before they speak and realize how ignorant to the rule they sound? Just funny. Glad people here want to know and learn what the rules are!
