McKinley has only played about 20 games this season... and we're disappointed that we weren't able to participate more actively... especially bummed about missing out on the showcase.
How many games has your team played?
Do you think it is strictly beneficial for the team to play more games?

EDIT: Number of games in tournaments. First of all, twenty games are not too few. As far as I know, we can't play more than 20 games and three tournaments. Excluding playoffs, a jamboree, and preseason games, the maximum is around 35 (20 + 5*3). I would also think 5 competitive games are better than 20 one-sided games (whether on the winning or losing end)....

University played 30. In a seven-team district, they had to play 12 district games (actually 10 this year because Runnels forfeited). They played seven other games. The rest is tournament (13 games). We would have played two more this week (rained out and coin toss).

What quality wins does University have this year? I want to get a feel of how good they may be. I know St Martins quality wins and some of Newmans, St Louis, but we don't hear much of University. Thanks for the help.

I have to be honest with you. University doesn't have quality wins. They beat: East Ascension (3-1 in preseason, 1-0 in tourney), St. Amant (3-1, preseason), Teurlings (5-3 before TC's football players joined), Baton Rouge (2-0, 3-0), Bishop Sullivan (4-2), Woodlawn (3-2, 2-0, 6-0), McKinley (3-0, 7-0), West Feliciana (5-2, 4-1). It's not their fault, however. With 12 district games scheduled, University couldn't schedule any games against quality opponents in the second half of the season. They finally got Catholic of BR (on the last day of regular season, Feb. 1) which was rained out. I hate to say this, but THIS YEAR, there aren't too many powerful teams in the BR area (except Catholic and Dutchtown). In the three tournaments, University had 13 games. They lost to: Lafayette, Nease (FL), Holy Cross (ouch!), and Brother Martin. I wish they had played schools like St. Martin's, Newman, and St. Louis in the tournament, but they didn't. Their other loss was to Dutchtown. Their record is 26-5-1. Except Holy Cross, University didn't lose to any teams which they were supposed to beat (i.e. consistency). This is what I am impressed with. The winning margins against the same team was getting wider as the season went by (e.g. Woodlawn and McKinley). Also, the loss to Brother Martin (3-2) raised their stock ("quality loss?"). This game was a turning point for them since they started to believe in themselves after that. The fact remains, however, that they haven't beaten any quality opponents. We'll see if they are real or not against Teurlings Catholic. If they win by a margin of 3 or more, I am convinced that they are real. Of course, they have to beat Northlake Christian first. As OC showed, a good winning record means little by itself. I hope this is not the case with University. We'll see.

The difference between University and OC is at least you guys played quality opponents, which still can make you dangerous.

why is there a limit on the number games playable??? I think it's because of the injury factor and maybe regional consideration (teams in the North can't schedule that many games)? I honestly don't know. LHSAA also has two games per week limit (its definition is never clear). With that restriction, you can't play much more than 20 regular season games, anyway.

So, I guess competitive teams play somewhere between 25 and 35 games (max allowed) per season.
