Does anyone have the coach to Carencro's #? If you could please pass it along to me, I would really appreciate it. I'd like to get this game set up as soon as possible. Thanks.

If you have it, please do not post it on the forum. Instead, private message airlinecoach.

I think that Carencro has this game in the bag. Although Carencro beat Magnet in a shootout and Airline beat them in regular playing time, I still think that Carencro will crush Airline. I think that Carencro has better players and better strategy. I may be going out on a limb saying this but this is what I think.

I think its a 1 goal game either way. I hope Airline can pull it out. Should be a good one.

I think Airline has a good shot at this game. If they come to play then I see no reason why they can't win it. It should be another good close game that will be fun to watch.

The game was MUCH closer than the write-up even suggested. If you just looked at the scoreline, you would figure it was another easy win for a D3 team against a lowly wanna-be from D1. Those that were at the game will testify to how close the match really was. Airline controlled the opening 10 minutes. Cro was back on their heels, they came out like I had hoped, what seemed a little overconfidence after having taken down Magnet. Airline had a couple of good looks at goal, but the Cro keeper, as he would do all night, came up with great save after great save. He was their man of the match by far and away. Cro would come back and control the next 10, pinning Airline back on its heels. The final 20 minutes saw both teams create some chances, but by far and away Airline created the better scoring chances, outshooting Cro 2-1 in the first half. But, the score was tied at 0-0. The game changed early in the second half on the PK, there is no doubt about that. Cro had created some decent chances before that, but to me lacked any real creative spark to break down our defense. I thought the call was a little weak, especially in a game of this magnitude, but that is neither here nor there. If the back doesn't get beat on the wing, it never makes it to the box. So, give credit to the forwards for continuing to fight for the ball. From what my players told me after the game my defender and the original attacking player were both on the ground when a second Cro attacker tripped over them. I didn't have the best angle to see everything. After that Airline really mounted the pressure and Cro basically settled into a calm shell and counterattacked. The seconde goal came with about 5 minutes left as we were pressing numbers for the equalizer. All in all, it was a great game. I hate that we had to go out like that, but give credit where it is due. The Cro keeper played a great game, and his defense made the rest simple for him. I hate most for my seniors that it had to end like this. I personally would have liked to have gotten a shot at Dutchtown or Acadiana, but I will wish Cro luck instead. What I really hope to have gained from all of this is some well earned respect for the district once again. People still look up here and dismiss D1 as noncompetitive. Shreve and Magnet gained some notice last year with a good run and all the games we have played this year against D3 teams have been competitive matches that could have swung either way. I'm not sure we could have beaten Lafayette, but then again, I'm not convinced anyone will this year. But, the other spot in that final is wide open, and could, and may go to anyone.
