From what I heard about the Jesuit players they knew they didn't desirve the semi game. They went out partyin on Bourbin the night before. Have Eye witness to that. That just didn't care! This is sad anyone who is given a second chance should not think that if they win then good but if not then In fact, they should probably be thankful for that second chance and play harder than ever. If this is true that they went out partying then they must not care about soccer too much

The descriptions are pretty accurate, I'd say CHS controlled more than half of the action out there, but the skill level was just not that far apart, except for a couple of defensive breakdowns by FHS the game was very tight throughout.
CHS had more size and equal speed to FHS and took advantage of that to win more balls in the midfield.
Having watched FHS play before, including against Jesuit, they were off their passing game last night. I'm no expert but I believe that they did not adjust well early to the large field and were not setting up the shape of their attack well as a result. They normlly play on a smaller field and are very good at supporting each other and moving the ball up and down the field. I agree that FHS did not look as sharp as you would expect and trust me their passing game is a joy to watch when they are on, as they were against Jesuit and all through the playoffs and the whole last half of the season.
A lot of that is coaching and the FHS coach has really done a great job getting the guys to play very solid, clean soccer. Perhaps CHS will get coach of year consideration but Coach Bud is number 1A at the worst. I know many people are very happy to have him on the sideline.
CHS did a great job on the set plays; that was the difference. Nobody mentioned the FHS player taken down in the box in the second half when it was 1-1, and the no-call. It looked obvious but we'll have to see the tape; that seemed to take the air out of FHS. Not tht it matters today of course!
Having said all that, CHS deserves the crown and congrats to them. They are the champs. Nice to have new blood in the first (and second) slot in D1.

i was wondering when someone would bring this up. i was on that side of the field and was dead even with the play. it was a good no call. the cro player and the fhs got tangeled up together but there was no foul. if the ref had called that foul he surely would have had to call the same type of play a foul when a cro player had the ball and got tangled up with a fhs player in the box earlier in the game. both plays were good no calls.

well, if you were right at the line for that play then I have to defer to your view on the no-call, and good point about no-calls the other way. What really needed to happen was for the FHS player to pull the trigger earlier when he had broken free. The game was close enough, at least right up until that third goal, that just one break could have kept it tied up, so things like that play tend to stand out. But refs did not win or lose this one, glad to say.
