yup--pretty good poll
Couple observations though--3 point s for Northshore? interesting, as I didnt know Northshore had anything special this year--no dis to NS, just hadnt heard.
West Fel in the top 10 in D3 is a stretch--they arent that strong this year with so many seniors leaving. DJ isnt going to do it by himself.
Surprised there was no love for the District 6 and 7 teams in D1--thought Destrehan and CL would get some consideration

Why is Pineville so far back. They are getting their whole entire offense back except for one person. They only lost 5 seniors.

Why is Pineville so far back. They are getting their whole entire offense back except for one person. They only lost 5 seniors. Why? Because pretty much every team after Ben Franklin could be ranked anywhere.

It would be useful to know how many starters are back at some of these schools. Looks like many are being ranked on last year. Some reload, but others are living on last year. Examples--Catholic lost lots of quality and will be very young. Dutchtown did too but has better depth. University lost almost everyone-10 starters. West Feliciana lost almost everyone. St Martin's lost its best players. Teurlings is loaded. STM is loaded. St Louis is but not as much as historically.

shreve dad, rummel at 3? and timaeus, st martins at 1? It is too early to have a good feel for any of these teams. Lafayette and Jesuit are my top 2 and the other 8 could have been placed in almost any order. The early tournaments will give us all a sense of where the teams really stand. Nobody really knows what most of these teams will look like. I stopped by the practice field yesterday to do a little goal repair work and hardly recognized some of the younger kids who have grown a foot since last year. Shreve also had a very good player out there who just moved in from North Carolina. He will make a huge difference in the team this year. With people still relocating from the hurricanes, other schools may not have the roster they expected. After the early tournaments we should all have a pretty good idea who the top teams are this year.

The early tourneys are nice, but they won't tell a whole lot. A lot of schools have football players that play soccer and it usually takes them a while to get in soccer shape, get touch back , and get in the flow with new teammates and coaches.

I know you've already discussed this in the past but could you remind me how the ranking goes and what the numbers to the side of the teams mean?

I know you've already discussed this in the past but could you remind me how the ranking goes and what the numbers to the side of the teams mean? A team that is ranked receive 10 points, 2nd - 9, 3rd - 8, 4th - 7... and so on. That is the numbers. The numbers in parenthesis are first place votes. So basically if one voter has a team ranked 8th, they recieve 3 points, even if they don't appear on another ballot.

West Fel and University lost a lot of talent from last year, its gonna be pretty hard for them to play like a top ten team.
