Comeaux and NISH look like they're headed to a tie in district wins, but with Comeaux's two wins over NISH looks like they'd get the final WC (if that's really true about Sulphur).

who is the best player in this district? i would have to say #3 for me would be a tie between 5-7 players because no one stands out to me, #2 for me would be steven rosser for cro (keeper), and #1 would be trevor thomas fro cro...

Goatman i think you wrong here man. In fact, i think we got two squads reppin District 3 that could hang with Jesuit. I agree though it would definately be an upset if it did happen.
heres why i think this. 1. cro is a very talented team led by lots of experienced veterans that contributed big time in winning state last year. They have good chemistry, they're focused, and most importantly they know how to step up and rise to the occasion( proven last year). Most importantly though, I think they have the most to prove. Let's be honest, alot of ppl believe to this day that there were 2 teams more deserving of the title last year. I think that alone will give them the motivation.
2. Acadiana is among the top 5 teams right now. Honestly you can put them Rummel and Fountainebleu in any order 3- 5. This team is very solid. Have an explosive offense with a lot of potential. Their meeting with Lafayette will be all they need to get them ready and ignite all that potential.
3. I think its clear why they wouldn't win. No goalscores( unless Martan gets back in time) no real experience in the playoffs besides Logan, and Jesuit has the edge. U know they are just hoping for the chance to get matched up with Lafayette and redeem themselves. Jesuit would come at them harder than any team has this year and to be honest, not to sure Laffy has the sort of resailiant /determined players it would take to match up against that.

fotbolfan34 i think we somewhat agree. i did say one of the top three teams could beat jesuit i just don't think we match up well against them.
like i said cro rely's to much on thomas for goals jesuit WILL have their best defender on him.
lafayette, i think my earlier post on them says it all
acadiana will have to try something deferent than what coach lou has done it the past because it doesn't work against jesuit.
i do think on any given night all three of these teams can beat jesuit, but all three would be considered upsets.

what most people dont know and i dont know if jesuit played there 2nd string against brother martin but i went to that game....there back line is slow and big....thomas would wreck shop up top with he speed and talent and that goes for corey hebert as well.....from what i saw they play very compact and run straight up the middle and they rely a lot on number 5 there center attacking mid and number 4 (mighty) up top....now jake hebert has more than proved that he is a top caliber center back and can do a great job of standing people up.....now please tell me if im mistaken or i saw the wrong jesuit team

hey keeper25 i don't know if it was the second string or not but they have only given up 3 goals all year. that doesn't sound like a big slow back line to me. trust me thomas will have a stud marking him if that game happens, (and i'll be pulling for him to wreck shop). really cro would be a major underdog in that game.

I got a call from a teacher at Sulphur and he said that the head coach had been fired. He had 2 players on the team that were not signed up with the proper paper work and were illegal. The school turned themselves in, will be fined and from what he said Sulphur will have for forfeit all games the players played in.

Lions get revenge against Rams Lafayette splits season series with Acadiana Kevin Foote kfoote@theadvertiser.com
SCOTT - Brett Hernandez and his Mighty Lion senior soccer teammates just couldn't stand the thought of it.
Getting swept by arch-rival Acadiana High in their senior season was a revolting possibility to them. It was also a real one after the Wreckin' Rams had used a Barrett Broussard goal for a 1-0 road win over the Lions on Dec. 19. On Tuesday, however, Hernandez scored the game's only goal with 6:29 left in the first half to lift Lafayette High to a crucial 1-0 win over Acadiana.
The Lions improved to 15-4-2 overall and 11-2 in district play. Acadiana dropped to 14-5-3 overall and 9-3 in league play. Lafayette High must play Carencro on Friday in its final league game, while Acadiana has Comeaux on Friday and a makeup game with New Iberia on Monday.
"No,'' Hernandez said as he shook his head when asked about possibly getting swept by AHS.
"We talked about it before the game and all week long. We couldn't lose to them twice in our senior year.''
That kind of determination was certainly obvious early on. LHS had 14 shots on goal in the first half to Acadiana's four. Virtually the entire first half was played on Lafayette's offensive side of the field in the cold, rainy conditions.
"We were prepared for the cold weather going in,'' Hernandez said. "We saw all day what it was going to be like. I don't think it was a factor.''
The game's only goal came when Logan McGuirk's long shot from the right wing was tipped by diving AHS goalkeeper Kevin Elston. Hernandez was there to kick it into the open goal.
Elston finished with nine saves before being red-carded early in the second half to give way to Ross Jumonville.
The second half was a different story. The Rams were a lot more active offensively, finishing with 11 shots on goal to Lafayette's 14. The Rams had two headers in the box, including one that hit the post but could score no goals.
The second half was physical and filled with emotion. In all, there were four yellow cards (two per team) and two red card (the other on Acadiana's Nick Saboe).
"We dominated the first half,'' LHS coach Keith Dhuet said. "Our kids didn't let the cold bother them and just really came out focused. Acadiana came out fired up in the second half and played very well.
"A 1-0 lead at the half is one of the worst leads you can have, because you have the feeling of comfort, but one goal can tie you.''
