Well since Teurlings Catholic has beat them all this yr... (Carencro, Lafayette, Acadiana, and STM) I would have to say Teurlings.
However, the season is still young, and Lafayette has a tournament at the end of the yr. I'd rather be playing good soccer in February. Hard to argue with how good Teurlings has looked thus far.

#1 is a tie between Lafayette and Teurlings. Neither team can beat the other. The only game that ended in regualtion was a 1-0 win by Lafayette in the jamboree. #3 is Cro #4 is STM #5 is Acadiana #6 is Comeaux

I can understand how everything thinks that laffy would be a great team...they have a lot of premier players and each of them are very strong but when you get down to it...lafayette is not the team that they have been in the past...i recently talked to one of their center mids and he even told me that they play to much individual ball...i agree that teurlings is probably one of the if not the better team in this area but i dont think ne one should count out carencro or acadiana....cro is still undefeated in district without a goal scored on them and acadiana has some chances to spoil the season for some teams

I believe what is going on with people's perception of Lafayette this season has to do with last year's team. They set the bar very high. You only get a group of guys like that once every ten years or so. The present members of the team are, in my opinion, struggling with that legacy also, especially since last year's JV, basically this team with a few notable exceptions, did so well against varsity teams. That said, since I have been following the Lions for the last nine years or so, I would put this group probably in third or fourth position, behind last year's team and the 2004 championship team. Depending on how the rest of the season pans out, I would either put them in front of or behind the 2005 finalist team. Then we will see if they are just a very good team or a great one. One final point, I also believe that Teurlings, Acadiana and Carencro are also right now very good teams that have the potential to acheive greatness.

It would be nice to have a couple on the field that are not able to be there this year, but the team is solid. The fans tend to judge them by past teams. Let them prove themselves on the field. I look forward the the Acadiana match tonight.

After seeing this group at the Showcase I agree with your assessment. If this team finds a little more self belief they can achieve greatness.

I find this post a little amusing since it means little more than someone trying to self promote. I don't think that it is necessary. Lafayette Parish is blessed with several strong teams: LHS, Carencro, STM, Teurlings, Acadiana and an up and coming program at Comeaux. I think to date that Teurlings has played the most consistant of any of the above teams and would at this point be favored in a Parish Tournament based upon their in-parish record. I know players on each of the above teams (except comeaux) and know that Lafayette produces a large number of good soccer players. Many of these kids play on the same travel teams. There are no surprises when these teams play. They know each other very well. It usually comes down to mistakes and therefore, I think it best said that on any given night, any of these teams could be best. Lafayette Parish will be well represented in the State playoffs. In fact, it would not surprise me if Lafayette takes all three divisions. That is not to say it will happen but it sure would be nice for Lafayette Parish soccer.

Actually I think it shows that all these teams are fairly equal....a bunch of 1 point games and shootouts. No dominant team. If I had to pick one to win a round robin tournament, my vote goes to Teurlings.
