... keep going on... we'll answer on the field That's what I love to see... A coach who lets the game do the talking. Win, Lose, or Draw there will be no trash talking, program and/or player bashing, as well as no hard feeling between the two coaches. P.S. Tsumi you could have just coppied my post from the "5-0" thread. It didn't use as many big words.

First, justsomerecplayer is right--there is nothing but mutual respect between EA and St Amant. The coaches are good friends and the kids have played with AND against one another growing up. I think both teams are excited about playing against each other because they know they will get the others best. The atmosphere is already getting juiced up. The Crazies will be in full effect, and will be there to cheer on their team against an archrival--I know the Crazies will be bringing their best too.
Should be a great game with alot of talent on the field.
Second--the Crazies didnt do anything last night to warrant any extra attention, so get off that kick. Its too easy to make them a scapegoat for frustration on the field. Bottom line is this--any team worth its salt should focus on whats in between the lines, not whats outside of it. Lose your focus, lose the game. The Crazies will try and help you lose your focus, and thats exactly what they did last night. The refs werent wrong--and neither were the Pit crazies--they were causing the other team some frustration, but so was the game. The Crazies got persecuted because they didnt let up, and blamed for a lack of focus on the opposing teams players end. Best advice to give to your team when getting the business from the fans--PLAY THE GAME. If ya dont do that at The Pit, you'll get punished for it.

yea. we "caused the problem" last night because the dude whiffed on a slide tackle so we started screamin. he got mad and pushed Jordan in the back, which wasnt necessary. the ref that talked to coach ray has never liked us (crazies) in the first place. Ever since I was a freshman, he always told us we couldnt say anything at the game, not even to our own players. but I guess since that dude got mad that he got juked out of his cleets, we are the problem in the stands.

first off i d like to say coach ray you are a true gangster
secondly all you people dont support noise at a sporting event need to just stay home...it doesnt matter if we say good job to one of our players - we are gonna be criticized by someone....
so pretty much i guess you're all saying that there should be no spectators at soccer games

First, I have no association with St. Amant except that one of my daughters teamates for club plays there. That being said, one of the best soccer matches I ever saw live was between Argentina and Canada's u20 national teams. The game itself was rather boring but the fans made it a blast!! Fans should support their teams and have as much fun as possible without being obscence. What ya'll do there is great! Great for the school, ya'll players, and for high school soccer as a whole. I wish all schools, including my daughters, had support from the students. Keep up the good work and have fun out there!

Maybe you need to hire coach ray as a promoter to get some more die hard fans in the stands.
Coach Ray how about a couple get in free passes for some alumni?
All joking aside there was a pretty good crowd last year and with the addition of Jason's ceremony plus a varsity doubleheader it should be larger than last year.

Does the ref have the authority to tell the fans what they can and cannot do? I'm not talking about fans being racist and what not to players but if the fans are just doing their best to get in opposing team's heads by being loud and yelling at players, can the ref actually do anything about it?

If in the opinion of the referee anyone is making remarks directly at players (taunting), it is within the discretion of the referee to have the spectators removed from the contest. That is the reason why security is required at these sporting events. It happens all of the time in club soccer, but doesn't normally happen at high school events because a faculty rep will usually handle the situation.

I was at a game a few years ago not involving Covington. One of the brothers (everyone knows who I am talking about) yelled something and the referee stopped that game until he was removed from the stadium. I didn't see anything wrong, and I don't like refs who have rabbit ears.

The referees and administrators know that this is an intense yet friendly rivalry between people who have grown up playin with an against each other for most of their soccer lives. Hopefully they will not be pr*cks and force the fans to be completly civilized.
