by my viewings as a spectator and see the games i'd have to say abram ebersohn, les warshaw, mason vidrine, matt chatelain, and austin vidrine
and the best player on the team by far, barrett jones their inspirational keeper who is just amazing, keeps them in the game like crazy and zach chatelain with the long shots and master jukes

It has to be that player for Derrider. #10 Alvais Coronel. He has great vision, great technique and is a just a good all round player. He stands out so much and brings everyone on his team into the game. His positional sense is good as well. It is also a shame that Nick Weeks hasn't played this year as He would make a difference. ASH has a good team but there is no real standout player where as Derrider has one in Alvais.

If He didn't have a good game against ASH then I would hate to see what a good game is as He had a hand in all 3 of Deridders goals (even the goal the ASH keeper pushed in direct from a throw-in). His movement off the ball is the key and there was no player from ASH who knew how to match it as He opened up space for him when needed and for his team. The other noticeable thing is Alvais was the only player who seems to know when to mark space and when to mark the player which is something this district doesn't understand!

I have to agree with cenlasocfan that young Mr. Coronel did have a good game against ASH which could easily of not been noticed by someone who really doesn't understand the game of soccer. I announced the game that evening and you could see how his off-the-ball movement changed the game from the press-box. He really opened up the game for the players around him and was very unselfish in his play. Yes technically He is probably one of the better players in the area but His vision and speed of play is what makes Him better than most, which is very surprising for a freshman!
Your comments about His ability on when to mark space and when to mark the player are so true which leads me to believe that you are a coach in the area??

im pretty sure i understand the game, i played since i was like 4, i whatched him in pinevill too and mannn is he ovverrated Funny enough I think I know the game as I have been involved in it for 35 years and do not think that Alvais is overrated. As an USSF 'A' License Coach, an English FA License Coach, a UEFA 'A' License Coach, a US National Staff Instructor, a Louisiana State Staff Coach and a former goalkeeper in England for several years I think I'm qualified enough. Oh and yes I started playing when I was 3 and I'm the son of current US Youth Soccer's Region 3 Coach of the Year. I guess that qualifies me to be a pretty good judge of a player. What are your qualifications or did you just start playing when you were 4. Oh and in case you didn't know I have also coached 4 US National team players. Pretty good resume if you ask me!! If you do understand the game then here are a few questions for you and you can post the answers here on this thread - What is a SCREENING Player? What is PHASE of PLAY? What is FUNCTIONAL TACTICAL Training? What are the PRINCIPLES of TEAMPLAY? What are the 3 different types of SPEED in the game of soccer and in which order of preference should they be? Just a few simple soccer questions that most players who have been really coached and understand the game would know the answers too!

Well put Xroadsdoc. I think Alvais Coronel probably is under-rated as a player and hardly gets noticed because all some players see are goals and tackles on the field where as He does create space for others. And last night He did score 2 goals against Pineville in a good game.
