The following is a post from CoachRay about this years playoffs. I thought this needed to be saved and put in a new thread.
I have compiled a spreadsheet showing the playoff placement of every team to go to the payoffs in each of the last 10 years(PM me here with your email address and I will send it to you)Now with the picks in my previous post, heres what the brackets might look like if there were no major changes:
Caddo Magnet Acadiana
West Monroe Airline
Carencro Woodlawn
Hahnville Dutchtown
Fontainebleau St Amant
Central Lafourche Thibodaux
Bonnebal Northshore
Jesuit West Jefferson
Ruston Byrd
Lafayette Ouachita
Catholic Ponchatoula
Shreve NISH
Grace King Rummel
St Pauls East St John
Destrehan Terrebonne
Brother Martin South Terrebonne

There is a minor booboo on there, I placed Thibodaux against CL--they're in the same district. Might look more like this:
1-1 Caddo Magnet 3-3 Acadiana (WC)
2-2 West Monroe 1-4 Airline(WC)
3-1 Carencro 4-4 BRHS(WC)
6-2 Hahnville 4-2 Dutchtown
5-1 Fontainebleau 4-3 Woodlawn(WC)
7-1 Central Lafourche 6-4 West Jefferson(WC)
8-2 Bonnebal 5-3 Northshore(WC)
9-1 Jesuit 6-3 East St John(WC)
2-1 Ruston 1-3 Byrd(WC)
3-2 Lafayette 2-3 Ouachita(WC)
4-1 Catholic 5-4 Ponchatoula(WC)
1-2 Shreve 3-4 NISH(WC)
8-1 Grace King 7-4 Thibodaux(WC)
5-2 St Pauls 7-3 Terrebonne(WC)
6-1 Destrehan 9-3 Rummel(WC)
9-2 Brother Martin 7-2 South Terrebonne
This would almost mirror the 2005 playoffs, only with 2-3 making the playoffs this year rather than 9-4 in 2005. That change would force the Baton Rouge District to send a WC elsewhere. Last year LHSAA mixed up the norm by sending 4-3(Catholic) to 3-1(Lafayette) and 4-4(St Amant) to 5-1 (Fontainebleau)--biggest reason I can think is because the two pairs of schools were geographically closer. I would think the same will hold true this year if a Baton Rouge and an Ascension Parish school make it in as WC's at 4-3 and 4-4. The Baton Rouge school will head to the Lafayette area, while the Ascension school will go to the Northshore area, regardless of district finish(3, or 4).

6-1 has played 9-3 three times since 2001--most prevalent match between the 2 positions

The last match up, 7-2 wouldn't be a wildcard..

If it ends up this way, there would be a few pretty good matchups: 1-1 Caddo Magnet 3-3 Acadiana (WC) * Top 10 matchup
6-2 Hahnville 4-2 Dutchtown * District matchup for next year
5-1 Fontainebleau 4-3 St Amant(WC) * Should be a good one.

For Caddo, the road to the semis will probably go through Carencro again. Last year Carencro surprised them with a close win in pks in the first round. I don’t see that happening again. Caddo’s five starting freshmen in that game have all had big seasons this year and are seasoned veterans now. Carencro appears susceptible to strong defenses so Dutchtown could be a problem for them in round 2. A Dutchtown-Caddo matchup would be intriguing. I’d also like to see a Caddo matchup with the winner of the Fontainebleau-St. Amant match, but that winner would see Jesuit first. Good luck with that.
For Shreve, the road to the semis appears at this time to go through Catholic BR and Lafayette. Both would be great games and very winnable for Shreve.
If Byrd could have a huge game against Lafayette, they could see Shreve in the quarters, and when these two district rivals meet anything is possible.
Still early but fun to speculate with the teams as they are currently positioned by Coachray.

Are you sure about that coach? Shreve has been on the top of the bracket the last 2 years. 2 years ago we stayed in town until we played Jesuit in the semis. Last year we traveled to Baton Rouge and then Fountainebleau in the quarters. Seems like we lost all the tiebreakers for home field last year.

i think that BM has no chance of making it to finals much less semifinals after watching them play in the showcase...
also i believe acadiana will advance instead of laffy considering laffy's play at this point

why do they have a number three seed playing the first seed, and the number 4 seed playing the number 2 seed?
