I'm going to go with the other few Rummel voters. Rummel has not had much respect this year at all. First part of the season they played really well, not losing until their 8 or 9th game. During the few tournaments they seemed to not play to good. I saw them play once, if they play as a team and together this team is as good as any in the state. It all depends on that day for Rummel. Rummel has won their last 3 games. Look for them to come out firing against Brother Martin. I'm taking Rummel with the upset.

There's not upset here... Rummel is taking this one. If anyone thinks thats an upset, educate yourself on the catholic league this year.
By the way, when is BM going to start winning games and not tie them? In district matches you can't have a tie and that's why I am taking Rummel to win this one.

"November 24 Sacred Heart Tournament -- Brother Martin 0, Catholic High 0 -- Brother Martin 3, St. Thomas Aquinas 1 -- Brother Martin 3, St. Martin's 1 --Brother Martin 3 St Pauls 0 semis --Brother Martin 4, Rummel 0 finals"
It'd be an upset.
I'd like to say that Brother Martin just needs a break in a game to "turn things around." Not that things have been going particularly poorly.

That result was over a month ago when Brother Martin was playing better, also that game was closer then the score indicated. I'd like to say that Brother Martin just needs a break in a game to "turn things around." Not that things have been going particularly poorly.

Why is tie up there? This is a district match, there has to be a winner

Well I didn't get to vote before the game, but I was fortunate enough to be able to attend it.
Overall, BM demonstrated decent ball control, while Rummel did a bit of long ball. At times it seemed like it was a contest to see which keeper could punt the ball the farthest. The field must have been slippery, as players from both teams took a number of falls.
Rummel appeared ready for a battle. BM students made the trek to the match and were quite vocal throughout game. 0-0 at halftime.
About 7 minutes into 2nd half, Rummel's #18 made a goal, much to the ire of the BM faithful and the jubilation of the Rummel fans. BM's #3 had earned a YC before that goal, and soon after the goal BM's #24 earned a YC for something I missed. I had noticed he appeared frustrated just a few moments before the foul occurred.
After that goal, BM seemed more anxious and determined, and their fans certainly seemed to feel the pressure as well. Later on, Rummel's #35 earned a YC for delay of game when he kicked the ball away after ref whistled play dead.
With time running out for BM and what seemed to be the second heartbreaking 1-0 loss in a row, BM's #19 drilled a shot past the keeper with about 2 minutes left in regulation! Needless to say, BM fans erupted and Rummel players and fans were either angry or dismayed.
Rummel's physical keeper had drawn ire from BM fans specifically on three occasions: On one play, they thought he collected the ball outside of the box; on another play in the box, he appeared to go after the BM player on the ground instead of the ball; and on a 3rd play, he made a save where his hands appeared to bobble the ball as he caught the ball, with the momentum carrying his hands (and the ball) over the goal line and to the ground behind the line. I couldn't tell if he had complete control or not. The BM fans were outraged as no goal was called.
Time quickly expired and the match went to 1st OT. Time seemed to go fast in OT, with one near miss for Rummel when BM player was making a break to the goal with the ball and a Rummel defender, who was stride by stride with BM player, clearing the ball at the last minute so close to the goal that it sailed over the top post and appeared very close to going in net.
In 2nd OT, both BM and Rummel each had a notable opportunity to score. It didn't help that it was getting dark and Rummel's field has no lighting.
BM had a great corner kick where the kicker drilled ball line drive in front of Rummel goal where a crowd of players were hanging out, but it just sailed past parallel to the goal without one player touching it (I believe).
Rummel had a mammoth throw-in that landed right in front of the BM goal, but no one was there to finish it before the keeper quickly collected the ball.
By the time the 2nd OT was over and it was time for PKs, it was after 5:30 pm and dark! BM got to shoot the first PK.
BM's #3 missed PK when he hit left post. Rummel's #27(?) made his PK. [BM 0 - 1 Rummel]
BM's #2 made his PK. Rummel's #12 made his PK twice, as the ref apparently had a problem where he set his ball up before the shot (I think). [BM 1 - 2 Rummel]
BM's #24 made his PK as it snuck through keeper's fingers. Rummel's #11 made his PK after it hit top post and ricocheted into goal! [BM 2 - 3 Rummel]
BM's #16 made his PK as it also hit top post and ricocheted behind keeper! Rummel #6's PK was saved by the keeper! [BM 3 - 3 Rummel]
BM's #22 made his PK. Rummel's #25(?) also made his PK. [BM 4 - 4 Rummel]
BM #19(?)'s PK was saved by keeper! Rummel #10's PK was also saved by keeper! [BM 4 - 4 Rummel]
BM's #6 missed his PK badly. Rummel's #4 missed his PK as it hit the left post! [BM 4 - 4 Rummel]
BM's Keeper made his PK! Rummel's #20 made his PK. [BM 5 - 5 Rummel]
BM #14's PK was saved by keeper! Rummel's #2 made his PK as it deflected in after a near-save by keeper! [BM 5 - 6 Rummel]
What great saves by both keepers! What a game for the ages!

Truly...I'm touched by that in depth review. Thought I was reading a novel or something...intense.

So Rummel only has the one loss to Jesuit right? And Br. Martin now has district losses to Jesuit and Rummel? If the season ended right now, Rummel would be the #2 seed correct? And if the two teams end up with the same record, what is the tie-breaker?
