This is question that many are wondering. They have been on a hot streak, but there last few games were against lower oppenants. However, you can't fault this for playing in a lower quality district. So what are you guys thoughts.

Not ranked... you get your respect mainly through the quality opponents you play in tournaments. All the Top ten teams can beat any mediocre teams in the state. South Lafourche? I've never even heard of them, but I guess congrats?

I've never even heard of them, but I guess congrats? So you penalize a team for playing their district scheduling and handling their business? South Lafourche: Nov 24-25 November Futbol Classico Woodlawn 3, S. Lafourche 0 S. Lafourche 1, St Charles Catholic 0 (forfeit) Ponchatoula 4, S Lafourche 0 Nov 29 S. Lafourche 6, Shaw 0 Dec 5 South Lafourche 3, Ellender 2 Dec 12 Central Lafourche 5, South Lafourche 0 Dec 15 Terrebonne 3, South Lafourche 0 Dec 16 South Lafourche 4, De La Salle 0 Jan 2 South Lafourche 4, HL Bourgeois 3 Jan 5 Central Lafourche 5, South Lafourche 0 They have played Woodlawn and loss by 3, and some teams you have heard of are losing to Woodlawn by 1 or 2. Like I said, this district has the reputation of being weak, and has taken a huge step from last year in compitition level. Still no where near the top in the state, but makes for more enjoyable games.

Oh no, since I'm from the northern part of the state, I've never heard of them... the reason I say this is because on someone else's post, it says should Central Lafourche be ranked? They beat S. Lafouche. Well, that's not a good enough reason. But on the other hand, just like Byrd, they're probably better than mediocre, and they've got A quality win against Shreve and almost beat Magnet, but why don't they get respect? Nobody talks about ranking them... it's because of the lack of tournaments they've been to. Shreve and Magnet earned their top ten spots by going down south and proving they can play and win.

"So you penalize a team for playing their district scheduling and handling their business?"-PutMeInCoach2
Well buddy, welcome to the attitude of North LA.
I don't think CL should be ranked. Sure, they handle themselves in district, but who have they beaten? Tell me one top ten team. They tied Rummel (impressive, but still not a win), and the next week lost to Mandeville? Not very consistant in their form. I'm sure Thibodaux, Terrebonne, etc... have some good players, but come on. Once they play and beat someone near/in the top ten, then they'll get votes. You have to earn respect by results.

Well then let me ask you this, should I carry my attitude of South Louisiana and not vote North Louisiana teams in my top 10?! or should I be the better person and try and give respect where I think it deserves to be?

the reason CL early schedule record is so poor is due to the fact that they have minimal players who only play high school soccer. Of there top 12 players only one plays outside of hs & that is for a rec team in raceland. i'm not making excuses for them, but i beleive this is why they schedule a fairly tough pre-district schedule.
whethe or not they should be ranked isn't up to me, but i think they have come a long way since the beginning of the year.

At this point why does it matter? There are 2 weeks left in the season--getting ranked now means nothing. 10 teams get ranked and 32 make the playoffs, so i say just worry about getting to the playoffs. CL is a quality side and will be a dangerous and difficult team to have to match up with in the playoffs. They should win their district, get a 1 seed against a weak first round opponent and play at home in the first round. Good draw and a little luck in staying home in later rounds and team like CL can make a run. Are they good enough to win it all? Probably not, and I say that only because in my opinion Jesuit is a monster that every team will have to be scared of. That being said, there are only 2 things that have been consistent in LA HS soccer this year: 1) jesuit, and 2)inconsistency, so just get to the playoffs and then we'll figure out the rest then.

PutMeInCoach2, I was agreeing with what you said. Meaning, people in North Louisiana get "penalized" for the same thing. Sorry, I didn't exactly write it to be easy to read.
