It will be an interesting game, #6 vs #9 in DIII. University took a come-from-behind win (3-2) last year in one of the most exciting games.

Hey stafalcon4show: Is coachray correct that STA has only played 8 games so far this season (4-4)? That seems low to me. What gives?

we have not had many games this season, but the last game coachray recorded was the newman game, after that we were suppose to play Vanderbuilt catholic, and we showed up in Houma and their was a miscommunication a/b the date, (so that game was cancelled), then we were suppose to play in the St. Pauls tournament but we didnt turn something in early enough, and the only other games we have played have been district, and we have won all of thoughs

yes trust me i know, i have not been happy with our schedule, wish we would have played tougher games... and oh fhssoccerfan: It is kind of confusing using the abbreviation STA because that can refer to St. Thomas Aquinas as well as St. Amant...... i can understand that but, if you read @ the top of the forum it says Saint Thomas in Hammond, so it should not be too too confusing

well considering that they beat Newman pretty bad 4-0 thier schedule hasn't really hindered them.

hey who is falconsrule???, but yea final was 2-2. STA had the mominum @ the begginging of the game, we scored first. Then the mominum shifted to U-high and they tied it. That was score @ half. STA came out strong and controlled most of the game in the second half. Put a goal in with 10 minutes left to play putting us(STA) on top 2-1, after that STA had a few oppertunities to put the game away but did not finish, and in the final minute of the game U-High finished one b/c of a break down on the Saint Thomas defense.

I have a little different take from stafalcon4show, if not much. St. Thomas Aquinas dominated UHS in the first half, particularly the first 30 minutes. They took more than 10 shots vs. UHS's 4. Only one went in, a clean middle shot from 25 yards away at the 18th minute. UHS's tying goal came at the 34th minute with another clean volley shot by Micah Peters. The momentum never shifted from STA's domination in the first half. The Cubs' goal was a result of an isolated play. The secod half was more equal, mostly due to UHS's depth (more substitution). The shot count was 9 vs. 6 still in favor of STA, though. STA's second goal was a pretty one, a left footer by #8 from 15 yards away to the upper left corner of the goal. It wasn't an easy shot at all, though he made it look that way. The last goal came with 20 seconds left when UHS's Kenta Kamo kept the ball in the box, centered it, and John Gilmer nailed it just below the crossbar. I didn't see "a break down" on the STA defense, but I might have missed that. I thought it was a clean goal. It was a well-played game. STA's ball control offense with speed (#17 was FAST) vs. UHS's defense for most of the game. All four goals were quality ones. Officiating was very good, letting many plays on for advantages.

What game was stafalcon4show watching? First of all STA might have had the "mominum" but U-High definitely had the "momentum" especially in the second half. STA may have had more chances in the second half but that was towards the end of the game when U-High threw all of their players on offense even their goalie. If you were even at that game you should have realized that the only reason why STA scored their second goal was because the ball bounced over the head of a defender and the forward was off to the races. That was simply due to a funny bounce on a wet field and a miscommunication in the defense.

ok the game i was watching, was the game i played in. And flat3, my response to your outcome on the game is, first of all, I think we did brake down after we scored the first goal, if you do not remember our midfield (STA) turned the ball over, UHS got the ball and passed a lob ball up and Micah scored it on a lob shot over our goalie's head, we had been making bad passes and did not have much of an offense after our first goal, that is why i think mominum shifted. The other part that i disagree with you is where STA broke down on defense, the player that made the cross was marked up right on the touchline, he crossed it in and that was the first mistake, the left defender for STA should have put his foot in front of the cross which would have stopped the cross, our second mistake was when the ball was crossed in the air, our goalie slapped the ball forward setting up UHS' forward for an easy goal, and our third mistake was no body marked up the man who scored, which made it easy for him to score.... and thatzafactjack, the only chances UHS had was on there throw-ins and the many free kicks they had. And they did not come close on any of those chances, so i do not see how you think UHS had momentum in the second half, UHS hardly made any real shots on goal in the second half.
