I am relatively new to this board so im not to sure whether this topic has already been discussed. I've been playing out a game in my head between last years lions and this years Teurlings squad and i like to hear other ppls thoughts on what for me would be an even better game then last year's Lafayette vs. Jesuit. I personally think Laffy would take it 3-2 in overtime. What do yall think?

Last years Lafayette team would win the game bya score of probably 3-1...The only reason I say this is because where Teurlings has a few younr guys here and there, Lafayette last year had true depth. The subs at Teurlings bring a little bit of a let up (no much tho) but Lafayette's subs last year didn't slump at all.

this game would not be close at all, id say 3-0 with shots around 19-2. Teurlings got dominated by this years Lafayette high team but pulled out the win. Last years Lafayette high teams only close games of the season were the Saint Louis game, and the Jesuit game in the playoffs, Teurlings been in many close games and the ball has bounced their way to get through them. If this years Jesuit team played Teurlings id say the score would be around 3 or 4 to 0.

How do you dominate a team and still not pull out the win? That doesent make sense.

wow are you serious? you can have more possesion, more shots, more corners... do you not know anything about soccer? have you never seen a game where a team gets 1 shot on goal, and the other team has about 15, and the team with 1 shot wins 1-0?

U are right dcrusher. Last year Lafayette beat the hell out of teams. Absolutely crush them. But when it comes down to it, do the amount of goals you run up on a team really matter. If you ask me a win is a win. Yes Teurlings has had a few rough ones here and there. I myself have watch several games where they did not look the dominant team in the least bit. However they still get it done. And that is what seperates the good ones from the greats. So yea you can argue that Lafayette had too much depth and experience and would blow em out, but i just don't see it. I agree they would lose in every aspect of the game, but they would find a way to hang with them. Keep in mind Lafayette's goalie is terrible and Teurling's Ray Savoie is arguably the best in the state.
