This is a big week coming up for Carencro. A win against Nish at home tuesday means district and Friday night they go away to face Lafayette. Now common sense says once they have district locked up they will more then likely sit their core players to insure they are healthy for the playoffs. I know if i were a coach that is the route i would take. But as a player i can say there would be no greater feeling than to be able to say we went undefeated in one of the toughest districts in the state and we took down the Mighty Lions in doing so twice( that is to say if they won the game of course). Now im pretty sure Cro has never gone undefeated in district but i am not to sure if they have ever beaten Laffy twice one year. If they have it was a long time ago. So here's the question. What is more important or should i say rewarding. Winning Tuesday nights game and resting your starters once you know you got the title, or giving it your all to try and take down a top rank team and withhold your perfect season?

i think they should play that game with a full line-up! If they lose to Laffy then that could mess things up for Acadiana... but if i was cro i would rather play laffy than acadiana in the playoffs after the acadiana lost to cro last year in the playoffs... i think acadiana will want some revenge!

Go for the perfect season. Keep your players in top form heading into the playoffs, and resting them for a game vs a great team isnt the way to do it. Laffy can expose areas of Cro's starting 11 that need to be worked on, and if Cro can patch those things up before the playoffs, then watch out.

to much pride on that cro team, they want the perfect season. if the coach goes the other way thats fine too. but i say try and keep the mo going. lafayette wins this game either way!

im sorry for thinking the worse but what if someone gets hurt... i think there is no greater feeling than winning state (i cannot speak from experience but im pretty sure its a awesome feeling)... WOW! they can say they beat Lafayette in a district game... or they can say "we won a state championship"... it is to much of a risk... there is no doubt in my mind about this...

... they are last years state champions which makes winning the state championship this year twice as hard, so why not take a risk, and go for it all? undefeated in district, and strong run in the playoffs? injuries happen at any time. you have just as much risk of being injured at a practice as you do in a game, so then should the starters sit out at practice as well?

if you ask me futbolfan34, this is a very very dumb question. What team would give up there perfect district season in one of the toughest districts in the state, j/ to make sure their players dont get hurt. Yea they will still win district, but are you afraid to take the risk of your players getting hurt? Well guess what..... every time you step on the field you take a risk, so how do you expect the coach to just take a die and lose b/c he is afraid their players might get hurt. If I was a a starter, and my coach did that to me, I wouldn't be able to j/ sit there and watch my team lose, idk who would. So I really dont know what coach would j/ give up, quit if you must, b/c that is what i think it would be like, j/ giving up and quiting. And on top of that, I dont think it would be good spirit for the team if they lost before the playoffs started, so I must say this was a very, very, very stupid question.

That is if Acadiana was to beat Magnet on their home field at Indy. Let's not forget that Magnet last year gave Carencro their closest game it seems like in the playoffs, going into PKs. It wont be that easy to take a win from Magnet in the first round at their home field.

yeah, thats the EPL, this is high school. in the EPL, players dont have to play every game to keep their good form, but in high school, they most likely have to play to keep it up.

StaFalcon i know it seems like a dumb question to you because you are probably a player. I agree with you . I would want to go for it all and not hold nothing back. But you have to try and put yourself in the coaches shoes for a sec. Carencro is exactly know for their depth.Their core team pretty much consists of about 13 players. After that you start seeing a major drop off. Let's face it some players you just can do without. Trevor Thomas and Jake Hebert being some of them. So i mean im with you definately, but i don't think it is a dumb question and i bet you Cro's coach doesn't either.

start your line-up the first half then makes subs for the second half. This way your starters get good work in and then you can rest them. Going undefeated isn't the main goal. Bakc to back state titles should be the purpose of the season.

its way to much of a risk... atleast at practice u r put atthe mercy of ur own players... if they play this game Lafayette might (not saying they will) hurt a few key players for the chance to beat them later... also if u play them in this game u may give up a few weaknesses for the next time u play them in the playoffs... instead the players can watch both their team and Lafayette play and maybe learn a few of their weaknesses...

I am a starter for carencro and we will start our starters. I would rather have the risk of getting hurt and playin a good team then finishing off the season with no big games before playoffs. We also still have to beat nish tonight to even begin to think about a perfect district run and district championship. I think the coach is more worried about nish then lafayette. I think the coach will take one game at a time and then decideif he will start the starters.

ok, so to all the ppl that would or think the coach should not start their starters, all I have to say is I play to win, and if your a coach and you honestly would not start your starters, then would you practice them? Why not j/ dont play them in the first round of the playoffs, b/c that should be an easy game, and dont practice them after that game, j/ save them, then maybe they will get better bench, and oh make sure they are "seated" on the bench b/c you dont want them to get hurt walking around. Well I'm sry if I'm not looking @ this from a coaches point of view, but i really do not know of a coach that would do that, what coach doesnt play to win. Could you honestly see Jesuit not starting their starting line up against Bro. Matrin, j/ so they could save them for the playoffs, do you honestly think that they would give up their perfect season, j/ to make sure they save their players, yea.... i didnt think so either. And that is the same situation for Cro. So i honestly couldnt see the coach doing that
