zzxxvvbb, i think last year was when cro was a team of destiny not this years team. look at what happened, last year both lafayette and jesuit got knocked out before the finals,(everyone knows the story), and both of those teams were much better than cro.
this year i think cro is a better team than last year and has something to prove, but i don't think they have destiny on their side. what they do have is confidence, talent and a taste of what winning a title means. destiny no, talent and confidence YES. good luck to all dist 3 teams.

jesuit should be ranked 1. however, heart goes a long way and i think if cro and jesuit play cro wins.

Most of the starters on this year's Jesuit team did not even get on the field last year against either Lafayette or Fontainebleau. Perhaps they could have made a difference in the outcome of those games had they been given a chance. So this year's team, which is certainly as talented as last year's, will not have a "mental image" that "could haunt them" if they happen to run into Lafayette or Fontainebleau in the playoffs. Jesuit won't have any lack of "heart" during the playoffs either.

Goatman.... you said that this years cro team is better than last years? No way can that be true. Even though this years cro team is very good, the district play is not as intense as it was last year. Cro was the underdog that came out on top. No matter what people say, that they dont deserve it or whatever, it wasnt there fault that lafayette had to forfet. They were in the finals no matter what and no matter who they played. They beat an awesome BM team in golden goal (great game). But you cant take the fact that last years team was alittle better than this years team... .

shhshh if you read my post you will see that i said last year cro was a team of destiny. the reason was because they did make it to the finals and the two top teams in the state didn't. I never said they didn't deserve the title! i do disagree with you about which team is better, this year or last year. look at their overall record not just their dist. record but the overall record. i watched both teams play and this years team plays a much better ball control style. i also think they play with more confidence. while i do agree that the rest of the dist. is down this year i think cro's level of play is better than last year.

ok... this is j/ my opinion, WHEN YOU ARE RANKED 3RD IN THE NATION, WHY SHOULD CARENCRO BE RANKED IN FRONT OF JESUIT??? and they are undefeated, and have played very tough games, even though Carencro's district is very tough, I think Jesuit has played a harder schedule than them. So until Jesuit (the 3rd best team in the whole entire nation) loses to Carencro, i dont think they should be ranked ahead of them Jeez. Easy on the ALL CAPS man. We've already established here that the national rankings are just for show. They don't mean anything at all really. Those rankings are based on records and maybe school reputation alone.

I am so tired of hearing about how Carencro was destined to win the title last year, and i am not trying to direct this towards you goatman or zzxxvvbb. I been hearing it since last year. Its bs. Carencro was not destined to win anything last year. That's like saying Lafayette was destined to get screwed over. Give me a break. I forget who said this but i am a firm believer in this quote. Luck is merely preperation meeting opportunity. Carencro saw an opportunity last year. They knew they had the talent to do great things, things no Cro team had ever done. Yea they had a rough start, i admit, but if you look at them from midseason to the finals you will see they went on something like a 14-1 streak. Were they destined to suck in the beginning and give everyone the impression of weakness then come back and blow minds? God no. But they came together and started working their butts off to get it done. They became a brotherhood and together they created the notion of destiny simply because of the love they had for each other. They built each other up to the mentality that not only was it possible, but it was supposed to happen. Now goatman you say that this years team is more confident, but tell me this. How can a team that is convinced they are destined to win state and then actually win state, be less confident then another team?

As for comparioson of the two teams, in my eyes, its very close. One could argue either team. Last year's district was much more competitive and talented than this years. So you have to take that into consideration. This years team is really solid and work well together. However they are lead by 3 individuals, and when i say that i mean if you take either Steven Rosser, Trevor Thomas, or Jake Hebert out of that lineup, Cro is done for. Simple as that. I know what yall thinking, that's unfair to take away their best players, but last year that didn't exist. Last years squad( not including Jake Hebert) had 3 of probably the top 5 defenders Carencro has ever seen, as well as 1st team all-state/ state mvp midfielder. They started 7 seniors and 4 juniors as opposed to this years 5 seniors, 2 juniors, and 4 sophmores. I just don't see it, and if someone can explain to me how this years squad is better than last years, please be my guess.

hey futbolfan34 reading your post i would bet you were either on last years cro team or you are related to someone who was on last years team. i am an outsider looking in. don't even try and tell me last years team would have had more confidence than this years when it comes to playing lafayette high. last year they met i think three times and cro not only lost all three games they were DOMINATED!! were was the confidence then. this year they went into those same games knowing they could and would beat lafayette that = confidence.
you say take away this years top three players and they are nothing, well i think that could be said for just about every team in this state with the exception of jesuit. for example take away the three Great defenders off last years team, do you think they would have beat BM without them, i don't!
Destiny last year hell yea!! what are the chances that both jesuit and lafayette would not be in the finals last year both teams would have handly beat cro. but because neither team was there cro was DESTIN to win. hey i am glad they won i always pull for dist 3 and i really like the coach at cro. i know alot of their players and parents and i am very happy for them but please get the chip off your shoulder.

"How can a team that is convinced they are destined to win state and then actually win state," one more thing futbol. how can you say it wasn't destiny last year and then put the quote above in your post. sounds like you do think and ya'll thought it was distiny from the beginning, doesn't it?

Hmmm I stirred the pot. Destiny...uh I may have to take some of it back. I agree with futbol 34... he made a point.
OK. I played for Carencro last year. I never really spoke up on here much about carencro... and if I did I never gave my idenity away. (due to the fact that Kert Talley is not a fan of LAPrep.com and if he found out that we were giving Carencro a bad rep, watch out) I mainly talked about the district as a whole.
Now that I'm finished with it, I'm more of fan and feel I can express my opinions more. I like it here you can read alot about stuff that you miss so much.
OK, My post on destiny (cus now I feel bad for posting that). Noone else can describe the feeling that every senior went through last year. Knowing inside we were better than most teams. We went through almost losing 1/2 of our squad due to, disbelief of what our season was turning to. Players were upset with players, players not performing well in school, and players upset with coaches decision almost made many of us want to quit. One day we gelled, found our exact line up, that seemed unstopable. (goat don't say nothing about lafayette high, b/c i got something later for that. buddy) Now when I say destiny, I mean that our confidence was so high, nothing could take the rest of our season away. We just felt like. I don't care if your better than us... its meant for us to win b/c we want it more, there for we will play better than you. ( I even stated that I feel like we are a team of destiny to the Daily Advertiser... go check it, they even have a cute picture of me)Thats how we entered each game in the playoffs. Now on the lafayette high note... they beat us twice in district...pretty bad. and once in a tourney where each team dind't play there full line up after 5 minutes in the game. They whooped us each time. They were the biggest fastest best team I've ever played against. But I will say if we would of played them in the finals,I still till this day i think we would of beat them. At that point in the season, I felt noone could beat us, and alot of people agreed. (Including a member of the lafayette high soccer club) OK now thats a pointless thing that I had to throw across b/c I can't stand reading that.
I agree i used destiny a little harsh. I didn't mean it as in, "uh lafayette backed out jesuit lost blabla...we sucked really but it was gods choice for us to win. "
its bull. apologies
Now this years team, I say destiny as in...this is the year thats meant for them to fully prove themselves b/c everyone gave us crap last year. and so far they are slowly doing it (12-0). But I really hate talking about last year, because it takes alot of credit away from what they have done this year. I like these guys alot and hope for a repeat (even though chase talley always tries to be like me...and briscoe) just jokeing.
thanks

man we are splitting hairs here. all three of us, me, xx, and futbol have used the word and feel destiny was part of cro's season last year: so what, they won didn't they. i don't think you can use the word destiny with this years team. i think they are winning because winning breads winning. kind of like acadiana's football team last year and this year. futbol you and i will have to agree to disagree on who would have won if lafayette would have made the finals, but if you did agree with me i would be very disappointed in you for not believing ya'll would win. good luck to cro in the playoffs. i think one of your toughest games will come in round two when you will face either acadiana or lafayette.

zzxxvvbb got it. that's what i was trying to say. I wasn't saying i was against the destiny thing i just was tired of hearing ppl used it as though we couldn't have loss. We could have very easily lossed, we just refused to allow it to happen. Goatman i think you are a very knowledgable person when it comes to the game and i usually agree with most things you say. You got me with a couple of points you made, we wouldnt have beat Brother Martin without those defenders and yea Jesuit and Lafayette looked more talented than we did last year. But we really didnt reach our full potential til the playoffs. 2 of the 3 games we played Lafayette with almost a completely switched line up than the one we had for State. Would we have beat Lafayette in the finals? Maybe not maybe so. At the time i was sure of it. The point i am trying to make is that last years team would have had a much better shot at beating Lafayette in the finals then this year team would have had, and i think you would agree with me.

After talking to some referee's of the Lafayette association. They stated, to determine the winner just out of Cro, Lafayette, and Acadiana is a coin flip. It just determines who wants it more on the field on that night.
With that, I dont think Cro deserves #1 over Jesuit.

Yes, this question will be soon answered, and not by words or reputation, but with a game finally, in the state tournament.
I'm actually excited to see someone other than Lafayette as a potential rival to Jesuit.

Jesuit deserves number 1. i think thats the way it should be. i also think thats the way cro wants it to be. those boys love their adversity.

Hope to see fans & players from all Dist. 3 teams at the game. We fight each other all season, but once our team is out of the playoffs, we're Dist. 3 one and all. See ya @ the Cro-dome.
