The initial question seems easy: Who is the fastest "skilled" soccer player you have seen playing in games in the 06-07 season?
The qualifications about "skills" can be ambiguous.
The player can play any position. The player should have some soccer-specific skills other than mere speed. For example, an offensive player outsprints ALL defenders. Or the defender outsprints ALL offensive players attempting an unassisted score.

Bryan Ford (Slidell High School). He's (about) as fast as Anthony is.

It doesn't matter. None of them would have come close to Jason Garey. That kid could win a horse race with the ball no more than 2 from his feet.

When you mention a player, please add some more details -- such as the position (or positions) he plays and maybe any particular "speed" plays you remember about him.
The only teams I saw this year were DHS, some of the schools they played against, and a few other teams that played at the Rebel Cup.
Repeatedly I saw DHS's Zack Major (forward) outsprint defenders. He has great breakaway speed and is not afraid of traffic. If/when he gets the ability to kick strong with either foot, he'll be a major scoring threat (pun intended). This season he earned second team All-District in District 2 of Division II.

Evan Coffman of Destrehan. Defense player and incredibly fast. I've seen him playing up and an opponent break away. He'll out run them to his goal from the other end of the field, get in front of them and take the ball. He's a beast.

well not now. dennis blew out is knee in the catholic game and didn't play against st pauls,(boy we sure could have used him in that game).
when he is healthy i think he is close to that level. i wish him well in rehab and i am looking forward to watching him next year.
the answer is yea he probably is in that class. i think mike is the best outright soccer player to come out of acadiana in years.

Some of the fastest i saw this year--
Frank Breeden from St Pauls--dude is quick and has great skills. Plays really aggressive and has a low center of gravity.
Marcus Dyer from Woodlawn--excellent speed and great ball control--doesnt monkey around with the ball, just plays it past you and goes. Woodlawns bomb-it-and-run style was perfect for Dyers physical abilities
Trevor Thomas from Carencro--top end speed is great, but what really impressed me about him was his acceleration--dude was at full speed in one step. Deadly with the ball and running.
My main man C-bass: Sebastian Torrado from St Amant-- At first you wouldn't think Cbass had great break away speed, but how many guys watched Sebastian blow by them this year and drill one? Sebastian uses an awesome combination of deft skill and great speed to break past defenders and finish. One of my favorite C-bass moments this year was in our game vs East Ascension--C won the ball at midfield, dribbled diagonally to the right corner, beating three defenders who tried to slide tackle him(he just dribbled over and around them at full speed), and then hit this perfect cross to Joel Mayer in the middle for our first goal.
