wow cougarfan your being a little tough on hdkiga. listen hdkiga WAS one of the best posters on this site. but he doesn't keep up with the highschool game as much as he use to. i'm sure he forgot or didn't relize the dist is being split up. i think the cougars will battle it out with acadiana for the top spot next year, but hdkiga is right about one thing, the cougars will not have that cake puff schedule in dist. anymore. you will have to earn your titles now.

The soccer Cougars have wanted to move up for years. It was never STM's fault that they had a cream puff schedule--you have to play who you have to play. It was great football and basketball district but the worst soccer district. I think the new district will only help STM's soccer program. Especially from a support standpoint....who would the fans rather watch? STM vs Morgan City or STM vs Acadiana? I can't wait!

"The soccer Cougars have wanted to move up for years."
Now that is funny. are you telling me they wanted to move into a div that they had no chance of winning a title. give me a break! lets face it STM was one of the top two teams in D2 for the past several years, now they will be in a div with acadiana cro lafayette bm jesuit rummel st pauls and they wanted to be there instead of D2, there is no way you can convience me of that. we will see how ya'll do next year. i honestly think ya'll will do well in dist, (coming in second behind the rams), but then the test will be playing tough teams in the playoffs every round, not just vandy!

i actually think STM is going to have a great shot of winning the state title, next years senior class for STM is amazing, all play club together and have started varsity since their sophmore years. and they have a great homefield advantage with the turf, i think they will go deep in the playoffs.

So if its only about winning state titles, then why do so many schools play soccer? Acadiana had no chance of winning state this year, but they played the season didn't they? Its about competition and playing the best. STM will do very well next year. This will be one of the strongest senior classes they have ever had. 11 seniors will start and all 11 have played premier together since 5th grade. Go back and see what this SR class did to Cro , Laffy, AHS in freshman and JV. I know fresh & jv don't mean a whole lot, but it is usually a pretty good indicator. I think it will only solidfy Lafayette Parish's in the high school soccer world : STM, AHS, Cro, Laffy, Teurlings....thats some pretty good soccer.

How can people put Lafayette infront of Acadiana? This year Acadiana beat Lafayette 2 out of the 3 times. Acadiana is only losing two starters for next year. I'm not sure how much Lafayette is losing, but I think it is quite a bit.

STM should win their new district and get into the semi-final game of the playoffs. After that, who knows. Sure would be sweet justice if they won State in their new Division. I expect LHS, Acadiana, Cro, and Jesuit to all make a great run for the championship. Forget about anyone north of Carencro in D1. Brother Martin may surprise a lot of teams next year. Best of luck to all teams.

I believe your under estimating Magnet. They will be a top 5 program with a chance to win it all. Capt Shreve should bounce back to be maybe 8-10 when it's all said and done.
