I think magnet finally has enough upperclassmen to do well when playoffs come around. i know its a long way away but im just throwing that out there. even though magnet has only a few seniors theyre filled with juniors who have been playing together for years. magnet no longer has the excuse of being young. magnet won their district last year and i think will win again this year. theyve lost 2 years in a row first round of playoffs so hopefully this year they will advance farther.

So chris156 how do you think Captain Shreve will match up with Magnet this year? Shreve is loaded with very talented Jr and Soph players

Better look out for Acadiana and STM. Both have tons of talent coming back and both want to prove a piont this year

Personally, I think Magnet will win district without a doubt. Shreve could put up a fight, but I think Magnet is going to be really good.

STM has the most talent in the Lafayette area. Teurlings also has real talent. LHS & AHS are overall good, but not as many great individual talented players. St. Louis is the team of L. Chas. Good luck to all the other teams from Texas to the Atchafalaya basin.

I agree STM is loaded, but don't underestimate the rams. for years acadiana has played with underclassmen due to the lack of depth. Remember you can only play with 11 on the field.

Lafayette High has twice the talent of Teurlings. It's not even close talentwise this year.

It looks like Acadiana is finally going outside the parish (besides district) and playing some tough competition... How you think that will help them come playoff time? Nov 3 Teurlings Home Nov10 New Iberia High School Jamboree Nov 17 Jesuit Away Nov 20 Carencro Home Nov 23-24 Carencro Holiday Tournament Nov 27 Lafayette Home Dec 1 Rummel Home Dec 4 Vandebilt Catholic Home Dec 7 Lafayette Away Dec 11 Comeaux* Home Dec 14-15 Lake Charles Showcase Dec 18 Barbe* Home Dec 21 STM* Away Dec 28-30 Saint Paul Holiday Tournament Jan. 4 Sulphur* Away Jan. 8 Bye Jan. 11 Comeaux* Away Jan. 15 STM* Home Jan. 18 Barbe* Away Jan. 22 Sulphur* Home

I think a tough schedule only helps a team when it gets to the playoffs. You may even lose a few (or quite a few) of those games, but when you get into the playoffs you're pretty much prepared to see anything because you've already seen most of it through your tough schedule. I think it's a good move on Acadiana's part.

To use example of girls, but think it still relevant. St Amant 5A state semis 2003, began season 0-6 EA 4A state semis 2006, began season 1-6. And some of those games, were absolutely pounded on, definitely agree with "M."
yes, looking at Acadiana headed to games with Rummel, Jesuit and STP tourn, let alone brutal neighboring games, will serve them really well.

is this the big guy from deridder? cuz if so he has the speed and size....he trys moves but never work and he has a horrible touch. I have played with him before.
LHS maybe not have many big name players but a team isn't made from one player. Its from the whole team and i think thats wat lhs has and watch out for them and their teamwork this year. They also have a pretty rough schedule playing st.louis this thursday, going to a houston tournamet, central lafouche, stm, ahs, the dutchtown and st. louis tournament and a end of season match up against st.louis again. Look for them to b well prepared for state even if the record isn't very good
