It is only really a rule if they are obvious, same with under shirts. Just pull them up a little and there is no problem. Also, make sure everybody is wearing the same color of hat/gloves to keep the ears/hands warm.... A little common sense all round makes things a whole lot easier.

it is called a "uniform" for a reason...meaning everyone except the keeper is attired the same

Rules like that are very nominal, unless they are just blatently obvious. Most officials don't look are really care if the under armour or sliding shorts are the same color as long as the outer uniform matches the rest of the team.

ok honestly that is a really dumb and pointless rule...the real purpose of a uniform is so that everyone on each team can easily distinguish the players on one team from the players on the other. i find it hard to believe that a person wearing red compression shorts or under armour as opposed to white like the rest of the team would cause any confusion to the other players as long as the rest of the uniform was the same...

and as far as the shinguards go, there will always be a hundred different ways to get injured while playing soccer. i can think of at least 3 people off the top of my head who have broken their collar bone playing soccer. i understand that the purpose of the new shinguard rules is to protect the players and to protect the referees from ridiculous parents who want to sue everyone and their mother because their poor baby got injured...but nitpicking about shinguards isnt going to keep players from getting hurt, all its going to do is get coaches and players in trouble needlessly.

disregarding any rule will do this...regardless of how you feel about the law change, it is now a rule and you must follow it...choosing not to is the same as choosing not to follow any other rule...get caught and you're punished

Or, put your shin guards on properly like a good little boy and try to play. Again, to paraphrase soccer 207: enough already.

i think the refs need to focus more and the game and less on what the players are wearing.

the bottom line is that officials are required to enforce all the laws, not just the ones you like or agree with...sorry
