If they can beat Teurlings they will win a fourth straight championship. No one else in Division II will be able to beat Teurlings or Vandebilt.

I don't think Vandy is as deep as in year's past or not quite as good. However, they do play in argueably the weakest division by far in high school soccer and should dual it out with Teurlings for the State Championship.

I have to disagree with the above statement. Vandy played Teurlings without 4 starters and tied. They found out about some of their up and coming players over the past weekend against some great competition. Depth is definitely not an issue. I personally think this team is better than last years, but only time will tell.

It has always been argued that DII is the Weakest of all Divisions, But let us look at just two sides that have made the transition from DII to DI , just this season alone; EA and STM have done very well competing at the DI level. Anyway, that is a different thread; As far as Vandebilt’s depth is concerned, most of the starters are sophomores and juniors.

i dont think anyone can ever put the ohh well D2 is horrible arugment against vandy. they dont play a D2 schedule until district and the playoffs, and they always hold their own. especially this year...beat brother martin, held catholic BR and teurlings to a draw with key players missing, and VERY narrowly lost to st.pauls twice...once again missing key players. they are legit and i think they'd beat teurlings in a rematch...plus teurlings schedule is pretty week

Teurlings starts 4 seniors, 5 juniors, 2 sophomores. Not sure about their **WEAK** schedule. Next 3 games....Comeaux, Lafayette High & St Louis. Then the SHOWCASE tournament. Still, Vandy as defending State Champs should be ranked #1 until proven otherwise. They seem to be as strong as in the past.

my bad on the spelling, dont get too excited.
but, lafayette lost to EA and is nowhere near what they used to be; comeaux barely beat beau chenne whom currently hasnt won a game, and st. louis is actually a pretty good team.
vandy still has to play bro. martin, STM, jesuit, acadiana, newman, a tourny in mississippi, and the st.pauls tourny (which i am sure vandy will get stuck in a hard bracket bc they always do in that tourny)

i wasnt at the game so i can't really say much on that, but we'll see who is better bc it will most likely be teurlings and vandy playing each other in the finals. all i'm saying is i think vandy has the tougher schedule of the two, and as a result teurlings record may not reflect exactly how good they are

It is always tough to decide who is best when two top sides play each other early in the season. I say let the pitch decide. Good luck to both sides.

OK here's my 2 cents on Vanderbilt Catholic, I have seen them beat 2 very good EA teams in the state finals 8-0, 3-0 . The EA team they beat last year had one senior and is currently ranked 5 or 6 the the 5A state rankings having to move up this year. So saying D11 is weak is B.S. When it comes down to state ring time you better bet on Vanderbilt or you will be dissappointed. If you want to beat them you better schedule them early in the season. They know how to win a championship. Let the pitch decide. Tara yea right, better bring more than Fred.

There is no hiding the fact that over the past few years you could pick 5 teams that would never lose to another Div II besides themselves, and you would be right 99% of the time. Div II has a few good teams, outside of that, they are the weaker part of the state.

What about tara competing for a title? I have to see more from Tara before I would put them as competing for a state title. Is it possible, yes. However, at this time they are not on my list of competetors for the title. As far as TJ, yes he is a heck of a player, and is a great weapon for vandy.

There are several teams in the top of DII that could beat DI teams, Just like there several teams in DI that would lose to DII teams. DI should be better they have more kids to pick from. Deridder, Neville, Alex., Ben franklin, Lee, St Micheals, just off the top of my head last year, I think the percentages work about the same. I don't think its that important anyway, if they would be expected to be the same they would have one division for all the marbles. EA and STM are still small 5A schools they probably gained no soccer players from larger enrollments, just bigger, better schools to play. You have to play by the rules. A DI school should be better as set up by the rules. So how many bad DI soccer teams are there out there? I would say a lot. But probably are about the same in both divisions. I don't think it fair to the players in DII, what I think is more important is how do we get more kids playing soccer.

he scored 41 goals last season as a freshman, but i heard he is kind of on a slump right now. still the leading scorer on the team though. he scored the only goal in vandy's 1-1 tie with jesuit

Tara has alot more besides Fred Parker if anybody knew, Brett Cappelo, the duo between the two will put them on top
