The subregional tournament is a one time event for this year. The 2nd and 3rd place teams from the states in our subregion (LA, MS, AL and FL panhandle) will participate. The winner receives an invitation to participate in regionals this year.
Starting in September 2003 there will be a subregional premier league. The first and second place teams from these states will participate. The winner of this league will get an invitation to regionals. There is a certain pecking order if that team also wins their state cup. These teams will not participate in the Louisiana premier league.
What this does on a regional level is allow 4 more teams to participate.

subregionals is a tournament....there are four subregional tournaments...they involve the 2 and 3 place teams for each state....the 1st subregiona tournament involves....texas(north and south) and oklahoma....2nd involves....louisiana, alabama, mississippi, arkansas, and west florida...the 3rd contains....georgi and east florida....and the 4th contains the carolinas, and tennessee....the winner of each tournament gets awildard bid at regionals...this year for regionals they have 16 teams with 4 brackets instead of 12 teams with 3 brackets and a wildcard....you must win your bracket to advance in regionals...which makes it a bit harder.....all state winners are automatically in regionals
