Just returned from Plano. Looks like all Louisiana teams got spanked pretty good. Granted, Texas teams have been playing for the last month, but there seems to be a pretty big difference between the best Texas teams and the best Louisiana teams. In the "silver" division the gap wasn't near as big, but in the "gold" some of our best teams flat out got embarrassed. Maybe if we played them in October or March things might be different. I am going to encourage our teams up here to quit wasting time going to Mississippi and start going to Dallas more.
Any thoughts from any teams down south that went?

Maybe your team got spanked, but the U-17 Cajun Burn broke braket as well as the U-16 Cajun Fury so don't make general statements that ALL our teams. The Burn played the #1 team in Region 3 (#3 in the US) to a 1-1 tie, so-o-o-o. They lost in the semi's due to multiple injuries to front line players like Joseph Lapera. Great job by these teams who seem to compete well with just about everyone. The silver division had no state champs, where the gold had four state champs that's why Lakeview kept the score close with their ties!! Go Hubie, ha!

Sorry, I wasn't trying to insult anybody; just pointing something out. Several teams from La. broke bracket. I know the Burn is probably the best team in La. I notice you conveniently forgot to mention they lost 5-0...oh yeah, the injuries.
Congratulations to the Cajun Pride for winning the U-11 Silver championship.

I didn't know the score, just that they lost their back 3 of the 4 players who play in the back and gave up some easy goals. One of the Burn players said they played with 11 and Joseph was 1 of them and he had an injuried foot. No excuses---as 4 time state champ, they have shown well for our state and in this case had one of those games we've all had. Unless you're the mighty Lakeview-Jesuit team who is a scoring machine!!

the coup de grace u-15 boys from lafayette played in the gold division. they lost to the dallas texans 1-0 who is nationally ranked in the top 10. they lost to the longhorns 2-1 and beat extreme 2-1. that is not at all a bad showing in this division. the tournament officials wanted good close games with no blow outs and that is what they got. reality is we can compete with these teams.
